cari: they definitely are, but there were a few parts of the negative reactions that were correct too. so i made sure to acknowledge those parts of it in the podcast i did, and now i'm just focused on rolling out the album in a little over two weeks. cari: maybe so, but the state in general would not help my case 😂 i've got work stuff with the album rollout anyways, so i have to stay in cali until then.

It wouldn't be a surprise if I told anyone it was coming! My team, my family, and my best friend Alex are genuinely the only people who knew about it. And the couples of interviews we set up to go along with the release of the song. Thank you, love. It's an important one for me, regardless of how mixed the reception to it is. It's what I expected, but I had secretly hoped I'd be a little more surprised but it is what it is.

That's what I usually always try to do, and it's typically fine. I think this one situation is just very different for obvious reasons, it's exactly what I expected which is why I wrote the song in the first place. I'm feeling okay. Just avoiding most corners of the internet, my manager and friends send me the things they feel like I should see.

That's the point of a surprise! I didn't tell anyone, because I was honestly too nervous with this one that it just felt easier to make it a surprise for everyone than have to explain it ahead of time. Now it all sort of explains itself. There's a lot more photos that I'll likely post eventually, once all this calms down some.
