The world’s oldest and largest collection of rock art – the Burrup Peninsula, or Murujuga, on the Dampier Archipelago – has been deregistered as a sacred site under new guidelines to the Western Australia’s weak Aboriginal heritage laws, which state there must be evidence of religious activity to qualify it as a ‘sacred site’. The change has led to questions about whether the art will be reinstated to the cultural heritage register following a successful Supreme Court decision that ruled against the WA government’s definition of a ‘sacred site’.

Now the WA gov wish to de-register some of the oldest sacred rock sites in the world. What more can they do to disrespect indigenous Australians and attempt to bring back the White Australia policy (not that it ever really left)?

Minister flags new national park within this term to save the possum

Melbourne could have a new national park on its doorstep within this term of the Andrews Government – a move that would help save Victoria's critically endangered faunal emblem, the Leadbeater's possum.

Its becoming increasingly likely that there will be a comprehensive reserve system to protect old growth forest and endangered species in the Central Highlands, north-east of Melbourne. The Andrews' Government has announced that it is realistic that the Great Forest National Park will come into existence in their first term.

Multi-million-dollar deep sea port opens in NT without environmental impact assessment

A $130 million port in an environmentally significant area off Darwin is already open for business despite no formal environmental impact assessments.

Another demonstration of the inadequacy of environmental legislation and its enforcement in Australia. The Abbott Government has been trying to "cut the Green Tape", but projects like this show that in a lot of circumstances it isn't there in the first place.

So one time, one of my guy friends said, “I’m pretty sure I’m straight but I’ve never slept with a man so how do I know for sure if I’m not bisexual or gay” and so he actually went and picked up a guy, had sex with him and after ward he said, “Well that was fun but I appear to be straight.” and just went on with his life without making a big deal about his dip into homosexuality and really, I think everybody should be this relaxed about sexualities

Yes, highly endangered! According to research, if humans keep killing/hunting, poaching, poisoning, and abusing elephants, they will be extinct by 2020. That’s in only 6 years.
