I've been busy with art school all the first half of the year but i'm on vacation now so i can finally post some stuff. I did these painting studies for my class on color. The references are:
first one is done from a photography. unfortunately i dont know the credits for it (it was given to us by our teacher)
Miguel Acevedo - Praia em Astúrias
Alexey Adamov
Georges Frédéric Rötig - Fighting Stags by Moonlight (my favorite one)
All done with gouache on paper. 29.7 x 42 cm.
"Who's the monster?"
So i watched Monster (2023) directed by Hirokazu Koreeda a few days ago and it left me totally dumbfounded, shocked, sad, happy, empty... so since that day i've only been able to draw and paint it to get these feelings out. I'm especially proud of the first painting, which i did in my regular sketchbook totally not suited for gouache, but this is the first time i've made a painting that "realistic" in terms of colors and skin tones, so i'm very happy with how it turned out.
I can't recommend this movie enough. Please watch it if you have the chance.
if you LIKE something REBLOG it. give your friends reblogs, give the artists you like reblogs for the holidays, give the up & coming artists reblogs, support people, love art, make art & show it around. making art is HARD. reblog it.
it’s just. it’s not CONTENT. it’s ART. it’s art it’s art it’s love it’s ART. someone MADE that, do you get it?? someone painted that, sung that, sculpted that, wrote that, made that gifset, stitched that, danced that. did you enjoy it? did it make you feel something? SHARE it. it’s literally the easiest thing in the world. “i only have ten followers” holy shit! that’s ten more people who can see this incredible thing!! that’s awesome!!
people talk about fandoms dying out—get AWAY from the passive language. PEOPLE are leaving fandoms. people aren’t ENGAGING with other people & artists. people aren’t reblogging or sharing or complimenting or talking to artists & the unfortunate truth is that artists aren’t machines, they’re people & they deserve love & compliments & attention & they’re starving & there is no reward for their effort. this isn’t a guilt trip. this is a reminder. this is information. reblog art. If you can, comment on it. if you want fandoms that last, we have to be the change because corps aren’t gonna stop dumping binge worthy seasons before moving on the second that well runs dry. grab your shovels & dig. fuck the corps. find your friends, find your fandoms, & make some art, reblog some art. get messy get weird feel deeply.

Crusty ass pictures but i needed to share this. I made a pumpkin pie with bunny decorations that I DID WITH MY OWN HANDS AND A KNIFE, NO COOKIE CUTTER. I'M SO PROUD OF THIS. All that time drawing rabbits because of watership down paid off here 😤✊💓🐇
Just two ducks swimming in a lake at one of the parks in my city. Watercolor and color pencils on paper.
Oh, Hazel, look! The field! It’s covered with blood!’
Fiver is my favorite character in Watership Down, he's just like me fr. I was afraid this wouldn't read especifically as Fiver, but alas... i liked my initial sketch a lot so i kept it as it was.

Rigo y yo.
Started this painting in february this year, left it for many months untouched, and then finally finished it in august. I based it on an old photo of me at 11 years old and my dog at 1 year old. He left a big hole in our hearts when he passed away last year, but we remember him and talk about him everyday as if he were still in the house with us.
"I decided to go with you to hell."
This movie kind of altered my brain chemistry..
Gouache on paper.

Connie the stuffed bunny is alive! But as her first time standing up it's not as easy as it seems.
I did this short animation as a final exercise for a course i took some time ago. Im barely getting started with animation and i'm proud of what i achieved this time :D
the sillies again
King and Lionheart. (Ink & digital)
A very personal piece. My dog passed away last month as a result of a cerebrovascular accident that caused him to have nonstop seizures. He was 13 years old. My mom was incredibly strong throughout all his decay. I made this piece as a tribute to both of them, who were inseparable.
they had no reason to look so stylish in the hurricane touchdown movie but they still did. its literally normal clothes but idk i just found them so cool. i literally named this file "davis yolei swag.psd"
