What “unnecessary” means in this context.

I’m sure someone has said this better than me. But my mind keeps coming back to the phrase “unnecessary care.”

Of course I know what is meant by “care” in this context. It refers to medical goods and services - exams, consultations, diagnostic testing, medications, physical therapy sessions, hospice nurses. People-hours. Vials. Radiation.

But CARE. Compassion. Empathy. Consideration. That’s the word being used.

Who on this earth would ever think it unnecessary?

should probably point out that what's happening in gaza does not exactly match the trail of tears, because rather than leaving gazans are actually trapped inside gaza and get shuffled around to different zones at the leisure of the idf, shot and killed on the way, and then bombed again once they reach the humanitarian zones. it is not one long death march to the unknown, it is repetitive death marches between extermination camps in a cage, ad infinitum, for a year straight.
