I spent countless dawns at this very same spot throughout my infancy watching the sun rise next to Mom, in silence while she gently sipped her coffee. Quietly waiting for her to finish so I could have the last few drops with sugar at the bottom of the cup. It was here I learned the soothness of silence and the joy of presence and company for company not for its current actions. She would say nothing and yet teach me so much, in silence, before my brothers and sisters awake, before the world would awake with its noises. Our own immense alternate reality, where the colors of the sky, the shapes of clouds and the rays from the sun where the only language, universal, surrounding us both and everything else.
