“I used to think the worst thing in life was to end up all alone. It’s not. The worst thing in life is to end up with people who make you feel all alone.”

as selfish as it may sound, i actually prayed for you to choose me. i prayed that one day, you’d make me feel that you feel the same way i do, that you’d choose me without hesitation, and that i could finally have you completely. i wanted to be the person you wanted, not just the person you could have when it was convenient.
because being and feeling like an option hurts more than anything. knowing that i could never ask you to choose me without someone else getting hurt makes this even harder. as much as i want you, i can’t possibly, in good conscience, let someone get hurt just because i selfishly want to be with you.
so maybe this is where i finally let go.
as my final act of love, i won’t bother you again. i’ll stop finding reasons to stay, stop hoping for something that may never happen, and quietly disappear from your life. please don’t mistake my silence for a lack of love. i’m walking away because i love you enough to know that wanting you doesn’t give me the right to hurt anyone.
maybe someday, if the universe really does want us to be together, our paths will find their way back to each other. and if that day ever comes, you know where to find me.
until then, i’ll love you from afar, quietly and without asking for anything in return.
i love you. always. and i think that’s why letting you go hurts this much.
how can i let someone treat me like an option when these two would drive through a storm just to pick me up because i couldnt book a ride and would never let me feel left out
look like a complete mess but thank you for getting me out of the house every time i need it
❤️❤️
