Who We Are - A Sirius Black Imagine (part 3)
Plot: The Reader first notices Sirius at a dinner with a lot of other pureblood families. They later get to know each other at school and the reader developes feelings but sheĀ“s unsure if Sirius feels the same. Ā Ā Ā
Warnings: my english maybe (itĀ“s not my first language), Sirius talking about his family Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā
āHey IĀ“m Sirius, I donĀ“t think weĀ“ve met beforeā, he said, making it sound like a question almost.
āNo we havenĀ“t, IĀ“m Y/Nā you answered with a slightly shaking voice.
āWell itĀ“s nice to meet you, Y/Nā. The sound of your name coming out of his mouth made you blush a little and as if that wasnĀ“t enough already he took your hand in his and kissed it gently. Shivers went down you spine.
āSo why did you ask me to come out here with you? Is there a problem?ā you asked trying to conceal how flustered you were.
āI just couldnĀ“t keep listening to what they are saying in there and I felt like you couldnĀ“t either, was I wrong?ā, you shook your head. āSee? Would you like to go outside for a walk? ItĀ“s a bit boring, standing in this hallā
āUh,.. sure why not, as long as we donĀ“t stay outside for too longā you stuttered. You were still perplexed and couldnĀ“t really grasp what was happening right now but you got used to the situation. You left through the front door but made sure not to close it entirely because you wanted to come back without anyone taking notice of you. In front of the manor was a beautiful garden with clean cut trees and little paths that looked like it was straight from a fairy tail but with a little darker touch, probably because it was late in the evening.
āHow come IĀ“ve never seen you at events like this?ā, you asked, trying to start a conversation as you walked next to a field of Ā flowers that had a statue of a peacock in the middle of it.
ā My parents never wanted to bring me along, they are afraid that i donĀ“t know how to behave and donĀ“t want me to do anything that might embarass them, I guessā he explained with a tone of sadness in his voice āI donĀ“t know if you can tell by the way me and my cousins and brother act around me but my family isnĀ“t exactly fond of meā. That was true, you had seen that they never talked to him and just generally acted like he wasnĀ“t even there.
āIĀ“m sorry to hear that, living like that must be hardā you told him, wanting to show your symathy but you werenĀ“t sure how. Ā āYou donĀ“t have to feel sorry for meā he told you, laughing a bit ābut IĀ“m not gonna lie, itĀ“s not exactly pleasant. IĀ“m used to it though, IĀ“m not like them and that they show me, ever since first year when I got sorted into Gryffindor. They really donĀ“t like the fact that IĀ“m not in the same house as everybody else in the familyā.
āI guess IĀ“m lucky to be in Slytherin thenā, you joked trying to lift the mood.
āLucky for you, unfortunate for meā, he said, looking at you and smiling.
āWhy do you think most families are in the same house?ā you continued the conversation not knowing how to respond to what he just said.
āI suppose itĀ“s because of the way the children are raised. Your house represents not only your qualities but your values as well after all.ā Sirius pointed out. āI never felt close to my parents and I never saw them as role models, at least not as far as i can remember, so they couldnĀ“t really influence me. IĀ“m sure I have some Slytherin qualities, too, and from every other house and so does almost everybody else but what stands out the most is important and for me that is courageā, you were impressed with how well he could hold a serious conversation. Ā āOh by the way, IĀ“m not saying that Gryffindor is better than Slytherin or that Slytherin is a bad house because most of the death eaters are in thereā.
You laughed, ādonĀ“t worry I never thought you were trying to say any of thatā.
You continued walking in the manorĀ“s garden for some time and talking about many other things. It was nice to finally talk to somebody who felt the same way as you and you completely forgot how nervous he made you at first. Talking to him was the easiest and most comfortable thing you had done in a long time. He said some things from time to time that might be percieved as flirty but he wasnĀ“t being importunate, you could tell that he liked talking to you as well and that he just do it to get into your pants.
After a while you decided to go back into the manor, you knew the dinner wouldnĀ“t last too long anymore and you didnĀ“t want to enter the house while everybody was getting ready to leave, they might see you together and think you did more than just talking outside. Going into the manor was no problem but you werenĀ“t sure if you should just walk into āyourā dining room together. You decided just walk in and when you did so, some heads turned around and looked at you strange but most of them just ignored you, probably thinking it was just a house elf coming to clean the table or whatever. As you sat down at your original spots, somebody decided it would be a good idea to make a snarly comment:
āWhere were you two so long together?ā, you just rolled your eyes and Sirius answered: ā We just went for a walk, donĀ“t start getting dirty thoughts. The air outside is really nice, you should try it.ā, he answered and winking at you after he did so.
A few minutes later, maybe fifteen, Eudora opened the door and told all of you āthank you all for coming, I hope everything was alright and that you had fun. Your parents are waiting right here for you and I expect to see all of you next year!ā, she pointed to the entrance hall Ā and then left smiling. You stood up and walked to your parents who were ready to leave. You turned around one last time and gave Sirius a smile to say goodbye which he reciprocated as you walked trough the door.
That night all you could do is lay in bed and think about him and what had happened. You couldnĀ“t really believe it yourself but all you knew was how excited you were to see him again at Hogwarts.
