Love this character.
New York snowstorm, January 21, 2014.
Dude striking poses in the middle of 6th Ave and 57th street. Clearly crazy but I love New York crazy.
First photo: 7:06pm, Nov 1, 2012. The almost pitch black corner of 20th Street and 1st Avenue, a police officer directing traffic.
Second photo: 7:16pm, Nov 1, 2013. Same corner, bright and cheery.
First photo: 7:50pm, Oct 31, 2012. People waiting patiently in line (at 2nd Ave and 23rd Street) for a bus to take them somewhere in the deep dark gloom. It's an indescribably eerie world.
Second photo: 7:34pm, Oct 31, 2013. Same street, typical busy Thursday night in New York.
First photo: 7:33, Oct 31, 2012. 2nd Avenue in the middle of the blackout zone. The building are all dark in the background. Beware cannibals!
Second photo: 7:27, Oct 31, 2013. 2nd Avenue, all is normal. Beware crazed cab drivers.
First photo: 7:16, Oct 31, 2012. Lexington between 39th and 40th. Halfway down the block the lights go out and we're in the dark zone.
Second photo: 7:17, Oct 31, 2013. Lights on.
First photo: 5:14pm, Oct 30, 2012. Tree outside Gramercy Park ripped out of the sidewalk by the force of Sandy's winds.
Second and third photos: 5:12pm, Oct 30, 2013. Just a baby tree in it's place
First photo, 2:49pm, Oct 30, 2012. Our basement being, which had been flooded up to the ceiling, being pumped out.
Second photo, 2:50pm, Oct 30, 2013. Basement dry, but still being repaired a year later.
First photo: 8:37pm, Oct 29, 2012, water surrounding our building, reaching towards the front door.
Second photo: 8:44pm, Oct 29, 2013. Nothing but pavement.
First photo: 7:47, Oct 29, 2012. Looking out our window as the water flows in from 20th Street, around our building. Just a little bit scary.
Second photo: 8:17, Oct 29, 2013. Same window, no water!
Did you take these pictures? Sorry for asking >.<
I did take the pictures, no problem asking. These are in front of my apartment building. My plan is spending the next few days taking dupe shots from the shots I took a year ago.
First photo, 7:26pm, Oct 29, 2012. 20th Street near Avenue C. I'm wading past my knees to get this shot.
Second photo, 7:29pm, Oct 29, 2013. 20th Street near Avenue C. Dry as a bone.
I'm doing a retrospective, then and now shots from Hurricane Sandy.
First shot: Sandy arriving, 10:30am Oct 29, 2012. The water is washing over the walkway.
Second shot: A year later, 11:05am Oct 29, 2012. A bright sunny day and the water is at least 10 feet lower.
Protester in Ankara waving a flag with Kemal Ataturk, the creator of a modern secular Turkey. His vision of a secular Turkey are seen by many as under attack by the Islamist policies of Prime Minister Erdogan.
