Freedom of speech is not a license to be disrespectful.
Yes it is. It is a license to be rude, crude, disrespectful, insulting, hurtful, even to lie. Because freedom of speech is about not giving ANYONE the power to tell another person what they may or may not say or write. The threat to our civiliization from tyrants (in government or in social media) to control who may speak and who may not, and what people may or may not say, is far worse than the consequences of people being rude, crude, disrespectful or dishonest.
Holy shit that's so cool
Finally “do you love the colour of the sky” got compressed for our convenience
This is now my favorite photo

[Text ID: I know I’ll always think of you with something like hurt and nostalgia―and a great deal of love.]
You cannot make everyone think and feel as deeply as you do. This is your tragedy … because you understand them, and they do not understand you.

Susan Sontag, from As Consciousness is Harnessed to Flesh: Journals and Notebooks, 1964-1980; February 17th, 1970
Text ID: I don't feel guilt at being unsociable, though I may sometimes regret it because my loneliness is painful. But when I move into the world, it feels like a moral fall—like seeking love in a whorehouse.

People who switch pronouns in songs to no-homo the situation are so funny. The idea literally never even occurred to me as a kid. Couldn’t be me. I am a woman scorned. I am a man who had his heart broken. I am a guy who hates his hometown. I’m a country boy, I’m a city girl. I’m a slut. I’m addicted to cocaine. It’s a song, man.
