Hi Anonymous. I agree with Jana. Just start by putting down whatever is in your head. Unedited. You can sort it out later. Get rid of that inner critic. I'm not sure where your creative writing is directed but that is the thing about being creative, it's whatever you want it to be. You have to lay it out then you can look at it and see if it is what you wanted it to be. I'm doing some art (drawings, paintings, greeting cards) and quilting. Sometimes I ask my roommate what she thinks about what I've come up with but most of the time I show her what I've done, not seeking approval just presenting it. Sometimes criticism can stifle creativity or redirect it. Then you end up doing something you didn't intend on doing or not doing it at all. I recommend a book called The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron. The book will help you to write what is in your head without censoring it and to do it everyday. Then you will be more focused on your intent. Some people outline, plot or just write to see where the journey will take them. I hope this helped. Carmellia
