Before anyone asks if I’m glad to be back home, I’m not. I had a great time on the road, and having to decorate for Valentine’s Day is probably some kind of punishment for leaving on such short notice. Breadstix is gonna look like a fucking Hallmark store, and I’m not excited. Approach with caution, I’m not in a good mood.

I’ve been back in Lima for almost a month now and I can say I did not miss this place. The majority of people are still idiots, the food is ridiculously greasy as hell, and I still feel like I’m living in the dark ages sometimes with people’s opinions on today’s issues.

On the plus side working at Luxe has been badass, it’s really cool the community theatre is doing RENT, low key mad I wasn’t here to audition but it is what it is, and I am back together with my family which is relatively dope. But why don’t ya’ll tell me everything I’ve missed these past couple of years?

Are you really that surprised though? Place like this just stay how they are when the real world changes around it. It’s like stepping into the past whenever you come back here. 

But you’re right there are many upsides here as well. Being around family does make it a little better. Certainly redeems how boring it is here. Me though? Oh I am fill of excitement. I’ve been building my image and doing quite a lot of traveling for modeling career. How about you?

Sometimes I’ll go for a walk in a direction I’ve never been before to see if I find something new– so far nothing super fun. Also I got lost, like, twice, and had to call for an Uber to take me home.

You know I use to do that same thing when I first got my license. I would just drive around and see if I could find my way back. The best was sneaking out there and finding little hidden gems. Twice though? Now that sucks, at least you had cell service.

Yeah? Totally, teach me your ways! Maybe I’m hanging out in the wrong parts of the city because I don’t party as much as when I was in college or even living in New York. Maybe things just move at a slower pace here?

If only Lima could be as exciting as New York, it can dream. But the one upside is that Lima does encourage you to be creative. Slowly would be an understatement. It only makes me want to find ways to spice it up.

Venting is one thing; especially constructively.  But being a dick for dick’s sake?  I’ll hard pass right on that.  I’ve never given much stock to the whole, you have to tear someone or something else down to build yourself up.  Oh, Lima isn’t my hometown, so maybe that’s another reason why I don’t complain about it so much.  I was born in Paris and only came to live in the US with my twin brother as teenagers after our parents separation and divorce, when our father came back to his home country.   Awe thank you; that’s very kind of you to say.  I’ll let you know if I go again in the new year.  

That’s understandable.  My sisters have both moved to the US recently and I convinced my twin to come closer than New York.  While it means we’re further from our Maman, I like that we’re geographically closer.  I hope it will help us become closer as adults as well. Wow.  Quite the world traveler.  Where has been your favorite?

That is fair just being a dick is not fun at all. Being honest and straight to the point is much more important. Maybe if I was fun some place cooler like New York City or Paris that changes often it would be a different story. But it seems like nothing ever changes in Lima, it doesn’t have that same excitement. At least the people can redeem it a little. This must have been such a change of pace though. I applaud you for sticking around here. It would be greatly appreciated. When great company is found you need to keep those people close. 

That must be hard though, but at least there is some family close by. I swear there is something about growing up that makes it nice to be close to family. I mean why not? You’ll never know if you don’t try. I love it so much, I’m just glad my job allows me to do it. My favorite? Oh that’s so tough there are so many favorites for so many reasons. Italy and Paris for fashion. Greece’s beaches are amazing. And I love going to islands for trips when I can.

Really? Maybe I should be better about paying attention, then… I like when life is exciting! But yeah, I love parties and dancing and having fun in general. Parties on one hand and then spa days on the the hand because it’s like two totally different ends of the spectrum.

Don’t worry, Tommy I can teach you my ways. I don’t like my life to be anything but exciting, even in a small city like this. You are my kind of person then, I live for all of that. That’s true though I feel like its always parties then spa days after. You need to get refreshed after nights out.

There is nothing like it, truly. I didn’t realize how lively some holidays could be until I experienced them in bigger cities. Although spending it with siblings is a different kind of special. I am actually spending Christmas with Blaine. New Years, I’m just hoping there’s some parties around here.

I try to look for the silver lining in most circumstances.  I think it’s better then bitching about things outside of your control.  It is.  But Columbus isn’t too far.  And then Chicago and even New York are close too, relatively speaking.  And given that it’s a smaller community, sometimes the good company is easier to find and enjoy.  There are a couple that seem to go hand in hand with an ice skating outing.  Speaking of, thank you for coming out with me the other night.  Let me know if you want to go again.

More power to you, truly. Being positive is fun and all but so is venting and getting stuff off your chest. It is so healthy at least for me. Plus it’s not your home town if you don’t complain a little about it, it’s out of love....sometimes. You are right though in that sense. It’s nice to not have to filter through so many people to find the gems. Well it was tons of fun and you are great company. Of course I’d love to go again. I am certainly in need of enjoying more winter festivities. 

Well mainly just to see and spend time with family while also redisxovering my roots. When you spend so many years away sometimes its nice to visit again. Oh so many places! New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Paris, London, Rome...the list can go on and on.

SOME THINGS ABOUT CARMEN:

Since Carmen could remember she always longed for more in life. More attention, material items, really anything she could dream of. Along with that desire came with a large amount of determination to come with it. She would do whatever she needed to make sure she got what she wanted.

Along with her determination it was always easy for her to get a read on any situation. Early on she quickly caught on to what she could and couldn’t get from her parents. She understood their dynamic, her father had other priorities and while her mother cared she was one of many siblings. Carmen didn’t have the patience to wait to get what she needed. So she had to take her happiness into her own hands, going to whatever measure she needed to so she could make it happen. It may not be the best way to live her life, but it’s worked for her so far. She doesn’t see any reason to stop.

Being so focused on herself led Carmen to have many moments where she was selfish or manipulative would be an understatement. Of course she could be kind to people but only if she truly cared about them or possibly saw it to be something that could benefit her in some way. Some of the only exceptions are her very close friends and siblings.

As she got older she realized that her looks and confidence to get what she wanted. That combination had always made her an alluring person no matter what she went. From schooling to when she was ready to explore the world outside of what she knew. She would thrive off of the attention she would get from this. It brought her a sense of excitement that she longed for. Not only did it make her happy but it also opened up a career opportunity for her. She started to post countless photos, selfies and updates of her life on social media. Managing to gain herself quite the following. Once she realized that she could make a life from this she went all out, doing all that she could to make herself the best.

After she graduated high school she knew she had to get out of Lima. So she packed her bags and headed straight to LA where she finally felt like she could be successful. Of course it was a struggle at first but she pushed through it. She used her connections that she had built up and before she knew it her career kicked off. There were modeling gigs, commercials and even more sponsor opportunities for her social media.

Even after a time she felt like her life was bigger than LA, encouraging her to reach out to the connections she made to help her branch out. With a lot of charm and some luck she found herself traveling the world for work. Adding on to her experience with working on the runway and even doing more with marketing for the companies she worked with.

Her most recent spark of inspiration though was to stop back home again. She was hoping to document how she started to help motivate her followers. But what she wouldn’t admit was that part of her always wondered what it would be like to be back. Hoping that maybe there could be changes, answers to questions that always lingered in the back of her mind. Plus it wouldn’t be too terrible to come back to a small town with a big name that she built for herself.

We got five sleeps till Christmas, ya’ll !! I’m super jazzed for another holiday this season! This week is already off to a fun start because this morning I got a new kitty patient and his name is Skimbleshanks… which has to be in my like top 5 favorite pet names I’ve ever heard! What’s even better is that Skimbleshanks is a Himalayan cat- so he extra fancy!

That’s my amusement for this Monday and I hope everybody else finds all the reasons to smile and laugh over little stuff uwu

It’s crazy how quick it came this year isn’t it? I am just over the moon. A little sad though I’m not in New York or Paris but I’ll make due. You know I can’t wait for New Years the parties then are always the best.

Someone was singing a horrid rendition of American Pie today at the flower shop and let me tell you. I didn’t know that someone can sing that song so horrible and wrong. I think the more he sang, some of the flowers kind of wilted and we tried everything to save them, but. We couldn’t. Thank god I’m off until the third of January, or I don’t think I could’ve made it any longer.

I love my job, and while the last few days were energy filled, and hectic, it was again very memorable.  That being said, it was awesome to crash with my girlfriend last night and spend the day lazing around watching Christmas movies and eating the cookies and chocolate I got from my students (and their parents) this year with Aspen.  (I’m saving the wine, and gift cards to take Caden out later.)  Day one of Christmas break was officially a success.

Oh Christmas break is always a must, you have to enjoy it. I have gotten to make my own schedule for awhile now so I always make sure I get to enjoy the holidays if I can.

So once again, I will be opening the doors to Club Halo on Christmas Eve and Christmas! I could use all the help you can give to either drop off food or help out throughout the day. Or, as I did for Thanksgiving, I will be cooking all week in preparation for those days, so drop by and cook with me so I won’t be bored. This sounds fun! I could for sure drop off some stuff. The holidays always leave me feeling charitable and wanting to do what I can to help. I saw that! Since my brother is in it I feel like it’s bound to be amazing.
