Carmen couldn’t help but chuckle. Not only because he was funny, although he was, but because it was funny to her that his job sounded an awful lot like her fake one. Unless they were both lying. But what were the odds of that? “I’m a personal assistant, so,” she started, smiling at him, “I know all about fetching coffee for demanding bosses. Mine’s relentless.” Over the months, the brunette had ‘switched’ jobs a couple of times; she worked at a café for a while, and was a part-time psychology student at some point, but becoming one of James Hartwell’s PAs had eventually stuck as a cover story, mainly because it explained all the texts and calls that she got from him. “Art sounds more fun than business, though. You’re an artist too, right?”

A part of me wants you in the most innocent way possible: taking off your shoes in my bedroom, climbing under the sheets and watching whatever’s in my Netflix queue, barely even touching as we talk about our days until we fall asleep with our clothes still on.
