Words of Power
One thing the Invoker had to get used to when he arrived in the city was the very concept of cities. The mage would spend a majority of his times in small villages and in solitude in the countryside. As a child, he enjoyed the company of travelling bands of foreigners, always eager to share a magic word or two.
Not to mention the rapid rate of modernization that the world had taken since his days of true mortality. Smartphones and streetlights and large skyscrapers which would hide the very sun, all of these things provided quite the eyesore. It was on a nice cliff that the Invoker found himself. A popular point for those couples intoxicated with love and affection to take a good look at the city before engaging in pleasures of the flesh.
But one thing that he had to get used to and one thing that he never quite got used to was loneliness. Silence brought on by one’s self-declared solitude. Taking in a breath, he made his presence known with his usual candor, to whomever would be willing to listen.
