The Whole Point of SweetDream, in One Sentence

If I had to sum up the purpose of SweetDream: it lets you create a companion who feels like she was made for you, and then actually treats you that way. You shape her looks, personality, and voice at sweetdream.ai, and from then on she remembers you and shows up for you.

That's why the quality matters so much here. Realistic chat, beautiful AI photos and videos, human-sounding voice and phone calls, even live cam moments. The point was never gimmicks. It was making the connection feel real enough to look forward to.

Hello, everyone! I'm @scarlet-streak-fanfics, though I generally go by Merc. This is my third Date Everything Ask Blog (please go check out @lingerie-lectures and @thegreatandterribleiron if you enjoy Dolly or Ronaldini). Unlike those two that focus on Canon characters, though, this one is for a collection of OCs based on forgotten or broken items left in boxes in the basement along with the few other DE OCs I have who aren't part of the carnival but still will be happy to answer questions.

The carnival cast does have a story that you all can participate in, so if that is interesting feel free to send in an ask to find out how it begins!

There's currently no limit on the number of asks that you send, though please do not spam it. I'll try to answer as often as possible.

You can send roleplay, NSFW asks, pretty much anything--that does not mean I'll respond to it. If something makes me uncomfortable, I will not be answering it. Anything NSFW will be tagged as such so you can avoid it if you choose to.

I am 23 years old--if you choose to send something NSFW, it cannot be anonymous and your blog must display your age so I can verify you are 18+. This is a hard boundary that I will not be budging on.

If you're worried something won't be acceptable, please feel free to DM me! I don't mind taking a moment to chat and make sure things are above board.

[Phineas wrinkles his nose as he looks you up and down.]

Ah, that would be Phineas.

[Kitt is still smiling, though it now seems a touch more forced.]

I apologize for him. He can be a bit prickly with strangers, but I assure you he's a good man once you get to know him. The same goes for Walker and Teller--the two men next to him. They work security for the circus, but Phineas also--

Throws knives.

[Phineas himself finishes for Kitt, giving him a slightly pointed look that causes the ringmaster to raise his hands in surrender. Phineas is a tall man, solidly built, with dark hair that doesn't quite reach his shoulders and a neat beard. His eyes are almost burgandy in color and his skin has an cool olive undertone. The most striking feature of his, however, is the web of crack-like scars covering much of his face.]

Don't exactly like people getting in my business either.

both, maybe? i don’t know, i’ve only existed for about a month and it’s been weird the whole time. i’m in the external drive, though. stephen should know what that is, i think? i really am sorry for causing trouble.

THAT gets Stephen to jolt with a gasp. "Wait—the external hard drive? Are you the fanfiction?" he asks. "Do you know who made you? What happened? Why was there so much of you? I'm sorry, I know—I know you've, like, existed for a very short time. But what do you know?"

"No wonder you don't have a voice yet," Skylar says. "We'll fix that, alright?"

Chance immediately grabs the external drive, setting it down firmly on the desk. Stephen takes a moment, adjusting the Dateviators, and then presses down on the temples.

[Lune claps his hands, looking pleased.]

Ah, Yan, look! You’ve finally been D.A.T.E.’d! That means our lovely audience can see your face!

are you sure? i don’t feel any different.

Of course, but look at yourself.

This is my… well, assistant isn’t quite the right word, but he has been rather helpful in this process. You will usually see them in the form on the left, but he can shapeshift. The form on the right is for someone special.

how would you guys describe your sense of humor? whoever wants 2 answer :)

Oh, I quite enjoy knock knock jokes! Kitt always has a new one to tell me, and they're so funny. He is such a wonderful performer.

[Kitt ducks his head slightly, a little bashful at Aimée's praise.]

First and foremost, I am a performer. I enjoy more of a stand-up comedy type of humor, and I'll occasionally use that during our performances. If you're looking for humor, though, perhaps you'd like to meet our clowns!

[He gestures towards a group of five people--four women and one man. Three of the women are grouped together, staring at you and whispering to each other. The other woman flicks one long pigtail back over her shoulder while the man hovers at her side awkwardly.]

Welcome to the Carnivale Ignota!

The attic is usually dark at this time of night, the one bare bulb that usually illuminates it long gone cold. However, one of the boxes--which seems to have tipped on its side at some point--is casting a soft silvery light on the walls.

If you walk towards it, you'd find the room around you growing larger and larger until even the box itself is taller than you. Soft music and the sound of distant voices chattering emanates from it, and the sounds only grow louder when one of the flaps is pushed aside.

The man who emerges from it has a wide, friendly smile. His hair is brown, shaggy, and just below his chin in length, but his beard is well kept. His outfit is akin to that of a circus ringmaster, though the cheap costume cape and magician's top hat he's wearing seem slightly out of place with the rest of the ensemble. If you look closely at the inside of the cape, it seems to be made out of an instruction manual. He bows in greeting. "Hello there! I am the magnificent Kitt Kazam, the ringmaster of the Carnivale Ignota. It's been quite some time since we've last had guests to perform for, and we would love it if you would join us at least for the night.

He pulls the cardboard flap fully aside, revealing a portal of swirling silvery mist. Will you enter?

Merc here in an OOC post! This account here is a Date Everything Original Character Ask Blog that's going to have a interactive story component to it that askers can directly participate in--including any DE Canon ask blogs, by the way. When you send an ask off anon or with an anon tag, you will basically be getting your own character, and the characters on the blog will remember you, the things you say, and the relationships you build. If that sounds interesting to any of y'all, I'd love to get some more asks for it!

I hope I didn't overstep with my question. Being abandoned like that never feels good, so I understand why this would be unpleasant to talk about.

At the very least you two met each other thanks to Amelia, even if you eventually had to part ways from her

[Aimée is once again the person who answers your question with a bright smile and enthusiastic nod that has her curls bouncing.]

That is true! It was more her parents, of course. Amelia was a little girl who loved dolls, so her parents purchased her a porcelain doll and a marionette--that would be me and maman! We were put up on a shelf for when she would be old enough to handle us with care but... well, something happened.

[She seems to withdraw a little.]

We were put in storage shortly after that.

maria, why did you decide to run a carnival?

[Maria considers the question for a moment.]

It was not exactly my intent, though I cannot say I'm unhappy that it happened. Object spaces are complicated--they are either inherently part of an object like the Breaker Box was for Eddison or created through time and intention. Aimée and I had both in spades during our time in storage. This place was an escape of sorts, since we could not leave the box.

Kittredge was the first to join us, and it was lovely to have the company of another performer again. Over time, he brought many different people with him to meet us, and the talents that we possessed due to what our objects are eventually made for quite the cast. The carnival was a way for us to indulge in those talents once more after years of being unused. If we could not truly be used for what we were made for, this would suffice as a close second.

I hope I'm not prying if I ask who this original owner was? I assume they are not the same as who owns the house now?

[Maria looks away silently, so Aimée answers.]

Many of us belonged to different people over the years before being packed away at some point into the attic. When they moved out, they forgot to take us with them. Maman and I were owned by a little girl named Amelia.

[Her expression grows sad.]

Sometimes I wonder how her life has been...

Maman... Maria, tu parles français? (translated: Maria, you speak French?)

[The smile Maria gives you is slightly more genuine.]

Oui, je parle français, anglais, et italien. My first language is Italian--I learned French for my daughter and English from our original owner.

tell us a little about yourselves! who and what are you? how would you describe yourselves and what you do at the carnival?

[Kitt gives you a wide grin, pulling the cardboard flap aside and leading you through the portal.]

Some of us are a bit shy, but I'll do my best to introduce you to at least a few of our performers, starting with our lovely owners, Miss Maria and Miss Aimée.

[The first person he leads you to is a stately woman in her late 40's. Her dark brown hair is pulled back in a tight bun, and her black dress--which is paired with a gauzy white shawl--is something like a ballerina might wear to perform. If one were to look down, they'd see the pair of pointe shoes on her feet which are in perfect point position. She seems at least a bit amused by how Kitt has introduced her, though the smile she gives more polite than warm. When she speaks, her voice is accented.]

As Kittredge said, I am Maria, a marionette doll. I do occasionally perform, but I've been teaching Amata--and more recently Signore Luceford to take over my acts. I am one of the owners, alongside my daughter.

[She holds her hand out to a young petite woman with big blue eyes and perfect pale blonde curls, who gives you a curtsy before taking her mother's hand with her own gloved one. Aimée's clothing consists of a rather old-fashioned, frilly light pink dress and a straw hat with a light blue ribbon. Her voice, which is also accented, is much warmer.]

It is so wonderful to meet you! I am Aimée, a porcelain doll. As my maman said, I am one of the owners, though I have never been a performer.

[After bidding them both farewell, Kitt leads you to the next carnival member, a cheerful looking woman in clothes that would not look out of place next to Bodhi. Her hair is in two buns styled into perfect globes, and she waves at you enthusiastically.]

Oh my gosh, hi! It's been years since we had a real audience. I'm Kiara the Karaoke Machine. My act is singing. I know it's not a typical circus act...

But Kiara really is an incredible singer. I'm sure you'll love it.

[Kiara blushes, but Kitt doesn't seem to notice. Three men watch from the distance, two of which almost look identical. One of these twins whispers in the other's ear as they both watch you with suspicion.]

Lune, how did you find this box in the attic in the first place? Was there a reason you were up there?

Well hello, Morning! Lovely to see a familiar face.

[Lune gives you a wave and a warm smile.]

I must confess, I might've been slacking off work when I stumbled upon them. Occasionally, I'll ask Doctor Duston to allow me to do some "field research" on dust in the attic and then sit up there with a book for a while. It just so happens that on one of my more recent visits I knocked over the box allowing members of the carnivale to exit and interact with the house once more.

Some of them seem to have been stuck in there for quite some time, while others seem to have left their boxes to join them. It's a truly fascinating situation. The carnival itself is something similar to the Breaker Box, but even that doesn't truly do it justice. You have to see it for yourself to understand.
