Jessie Mueller as Cinderella in Into the Woods (Shakespeare in the Park, Delacorte Theatre, 2012).
"On that night all dark and moody…did I deaden Edwin Droody?"
Jessie Mueller as Helena Landless.
Mueller was in a summer 2011 production of “Shout” at the Marriott Theatre, a second-tier revue show of music made famous by the British singers of the 1960s, such as Dusty Springfield and Petula Clark. On opening night, the show was limping along. And then Mueller stepped out to sing “How Can I Be Sure?”
"Maybe you’re trying to use me," the lyric went. "Flying too high can confuse me. Touch me but don’t take me down." (x)
