Current plans: probably chill for a couple of weeks after finishing Homecoming. Working on 'dvd extras' - if you have any questions about Warmth or Homecoming, hmu.
I've been playing/doing warm-ups with some multiamory march prompts in a post-Homecoming setting (not necessarily ‘canon’ for the fic, if that’s not your vibe, just ignore). They're much more informal than the fic, but I think some of them are fun and they’ll probably end up on tumblr.
Other than that, I plan to turn to my original writing for a little while after this (it’s available for free, see description - I’m working to edit and post my most developed projects so there’s a backlog available for people to read but got a little sidetracked finishing Homecoming).
Day 7: Secret relationship (but more like a complicated/unarticulated relationship)
multiamory march ficlets for post-Homecoming #5
450 words, M, sexual content, a Noctis-Nyx dynamic I hesitate to describe, background Promptis and Luna/Prompto, exhibitionism and voyeurism
//
“Enjoying the view, Your Majesty?”
Noctis was, so he only tore his gaze away from it for a second to look toward Nyx. Nyx’s eyes were waiting for his, but they immediately dropped to Noctis’s …
It wasn’t weird to get hard watching your partner have sex. It wasn’t. Noctis spared one final glance at Nyx – this time to see if he could catch him in the same condition, but unfortunately Nyx was positioned so there was no telling – before he looked back at Prompto. “I thought ‘enjoying the view’ was the point for us.” He started to reach for one of the sofa’s pillows to cover himself.
“It is. I’m saying there’s no need for you to hold back on my account.”
Noctis froze. Nyx was saying he could … “I thought you were straight.”
“That doesn’t mean I’m afraid of another man’s dick. Look what we’re doing right now.”
Noctis still wasn’t sure. Would Luna think it was weird? She’d said to appreciate whatever he wanted, however he wanted. But with Nyx right there …
“Or are you scared of your Glaive seeing his king hot under the collar.”
Noctis wasn’t scared of Nyx. He abandoned the pillow in favor of shoving his hand down his pants – although then he had to bite his lip, hard, to avoid making any kind of embarrassing sound.
He heard Nyx chuckle beside him, and literally everything about the situation had him feeling exposed, vulnerable – Prompto was having fervent, eager sex three feet away, and Noctis got to watch from this angle because he was having it with someone else; his friend Luna was naked in front of him – enjoying sex in front of him; Nyx, who was older and a better warrior and whose loyalty he had to continue to deserve, was watching him jerk off.
It was thrilling. Noctis’s head was so light he thought he might pass out, in a good way.
“Are you going to take care of yourself?” Noctis asked, only a little unsteadily, hoping to turn the tables a little.
“Later, definitely,” was Nyx’s easy reply.
Noctis throbbed. He had to squeeze his dick to try to calm down.
Five minutes later, Noctis was breathing hard. Nyx had scooted way closer on the sofa, and though he was mostly watching the other two, he had his fingers curled against the back of Noctis’s neck. It wasn’t Nyx himself exactly – not his body, anyway – but something about the whole situation was really doing it for Noctis.
With the change in position, he could finally see it was doing it for Nyx too, so he decided to just give himself over to it. He could think about everything later, when his brain had its blood back.
“Prompto and I are going to stay in Luna’s caravan tonight,” Noctis said as off-handedly as he could.
Either that wasn’t very much at all or the information was just too strange anyway, because Ignis and Gladio’s heads both snapped right to him (from paging through a cookbook and doing pushups respectively).
He’d decided to do this when Prompto was at the range, because Noctis had been weird enough about it already. He didn’t want him to start to feel insecure if Ignis and Gladio were weird too. One of the only good things about Prompto’s past as an MT was that he’d skipped getting all of society’s weird ideas about sex and relationships. It would be a shame to end up installing them anyway.
“Is this a social call?” Ignis asked, watching him closely. “It requires you to stay the night?”
Noctis panicked suddenly, because of course if he said yes, they’d instantly know what was going on. How else could he explain it? “There’s this board game Nyx knows from Galahad. It’s takes a long time to play, so we probably won’t feel like walking back.” Why wouldn’t Ignis and Gladio have been invited? “It’s only for four players.” Were they going to expect to play it at some point now? With Luna and Nyx or Prompto and Noctis?
He could say it was boring afterward.
What if this was great and they decided to do it again?
That last thought, unfortunately, brought the heat Noctis had been fighting off to his face. Ignis and Gladio definitely saw it, because they were staring at him like he’d started speaking in ancient Sol. Apparently the board game thing hadn’t been convincing.
Gladio frowned. “If you’re trying to sneak out somewhere together, you can’t be doing that. I know you know that. I thought you’d decided to take things seriously.” Then something must have occurred to him, because his face darkened even more. “Is someone threatening or coercing you to do something?” he asked quietly – as if there was some cloak and dagger thing happening and Noctis might be worried someone would overhear them.
“It’s nothing like that,” Notis said, frustrated. “It’s nothing at all. We’re just going to stay overnight at Luna’s caravan.”
“You are going to sleep on the opposite side of this base from two thirds of your personal guard for … a board game,” Ignis said, suspicious. “To spare yourselves a late-night walk.” Gladio looked equally skeptical of the arrangement.
Noctis let his face drop into his hands. Maybe this was just another price of being King – he had to tell his lifelong retainers private things about his sex life.
“No,” he admitted. “We’re staying the night to stay the night. Prompto’s going to … probably do some stuff with Luna.”
He made himself drag his head up and look at them, because he was going to have to at some point, and was taken aback at their mirrored looks of deep worry.
“Whose idea was this?” Ignis asked, like it was something that might put Noctis physically at risk.
“Is everything okay with you and Prompto, Noct?” Gladio asked, more gently than Noctis thought he’d talked to him in half a decade.
“You don’t have to let yourself be hurt to pay the debts of those who hurt him in the past,” Ignis said. “You must respect your own heart and Prompto’s intelligence, and tell him if he’s asked for something you don’t want.”
Noctis suddenly felt defensive of Prompto, Luna, and himself, even though he had gone through a whole roller coaster of doubt when the idea was first presented to him. “Haven’t you guys ever heard of polyamory? Do you have some kind of problem with it?”
Ignis’s eyebrows rose in surprise.
“No,” Gladio answered. “I just wouldn’t have figured you’d be comfortable with it.”
“It isn’t for everyone,” Ignis said. “I’m as surprised as Gladio to learn it might be for you.”
Noctis was reminded, for the millionth time, how lucky he was to have people know and care about him the way they did. Even if it meant he was going to have to keep talking about this to convince them he was okay. “When it first got mentioned, my initial thought was, no way. Because Prompto’s … He’s mine. Since he wants to be,” Noctis caveated quickly.
“You’re possessive,” Gladio said. “We know.”
“And we know it’s comforting to Prompto to feel so greatly wanted by you, and that you’re careful to respect Prompto’s autonomy regardless. That, perhaps, is the source of our concern. This is an area in which it is not possessive, in the toxic sense, for you to have an objection.”
“Right. I know,” Noctis said, even though he had felt guilty about considering saying no. “But the more I thought about it, and the more Prompto told me what he thought about it … It’s really that he’s so mine, he can do this without it changing anything. Even while he’s … while he’s doing that with Luna, he’s mine.”
Ignis and Gladio exchanged some kind of long, married-to-each-other glance.
“Huh,” Gladio said, starting to look more relaxed than he had since the fiasco started. “Spoken with the confidence of a king, I guess.”
“If you’re truly comfortable with it, Noctis, of course we’ll fully support you. I simply wanted to make sure you weren’t agreeing to something that would hurt you simply for Prompto’s sake.”
“I appreciate it,” Noctis told him. “Both of you. But I really do want to do this.”
Something about his words struck Gladio strangely. “Yeah, how come you’re going? I refuse to believe you’re interested in touching either of them. Are you and Nyx really going to sit on the steps outside while they steam up the windows?”
Noctis rolled his eyes. “Obviously we’re going to watch.”
From their expressions, neither Ignis or Gladio had found that ‘obvious’ at all. Noctis decided either his retainers were absolutely not interested in polyamory in their own relationship, or they had a very different perspective on it than Noctis himself.
“We have an interesting yet … somewhat sensitive question to ask the two of you,” Luna said when she and Nyx stopped by their quarters by surprise when Ignis and Gladio were out.
It really must have been sensitive, because they were taking a long time to work up to it. Prompto had helped Noct put out cookies and tea, and all the conversation so far had been about the weather and training and plans for the next mission.
“So what was it you wanted to ask us?” Noct had to ask eventually, and when he did, Luna and Nyx both got a little tense.
“This is … a very casual proposal,” Luna began.
“Have you two ever talked about nonmonogamy?” Nyx cut in. “If you already have a firm position, there might be no point in going further.”
Prompto’s first instinct was to look to Noct, who very flatly said, “We haven’t.”
“That’s like when you do things, sex or relationships, with more than one person, right? We talked about it with, like, you and Luna,” Prompto pointed out.
“That’s not what they’re asking about,” Noct said. “Right?”
“That’s right,” Luna said. “Since our conversation, Noct … To be clear, I still strongly believe you have nothing to feel guilty over with respect to Prompto. He’s able to make his own choices in most respects, and to all outward appearances, he’s happy to have chosen you. It simply caused me to reflect on the fact that Prompto is … attractive, and someone I’m fond of. You and I are already entangled by fate, and Prompto and Nyx by choice. I simply wanted to let you both know that if, well, if Prompto were interested in an encounter between the two of us, I would be open to it.”
As soon as she’d finished talking, Prompto knew he liked the idea. Luna was incredible, almost as much as Noct was – she was kind, smart, and really beautiful. He wasn’t close to her the way he was to Noct, wasn’t as completely positive anything he did around her would be safe … but he also knew she was willing to be patient with him when it came to things he didn’t understand yet. If she was interested in having sex with him, of course he’d love to try it out.
He wondered how it would be different from being with Noct. He wouldn’t know exactly what to do, but Luna knew that. He’d just try to learn fast and do his best.
Then he looked over and saw Noct’s face. It was the deliberately blank one he put on when he had bad feelings he didn’t want people to know about. Prompto’s stomach dropped. How dumb was he?
When Prompto asked Noct about his sexuality once, Noct said, “I don’t know. I thought people looked good sometimes, but I was never really attracted to anyone before you. When Gladio made the joke that I’m ‘Promptosexual’, that’s what he meant.”
Prompto later asked Ignis how that fit with the vocabulary he’d talked about, and Ignis said, “Noctis would have the final say, of course, but to me it sounds like he might be demisexual, if his love for you is what bloomed into attraction, or otherwise somewhere on the asexual, aromantic axis.”
That meant Noct loved only Prompto. Prompto had to love only Noct back in return.
“Woah,” Nyx said, lurching Prompto back into the present. “I feel like we’re watching you both have parallel dark nights of the soul. This is something you two need to communicate about with each other. Should we leave so you can talk privately?”
Noct shook his head. “I have to say yes,” he said quietly, at almost the exact same time Prompto said, “I have to say no.”
“You don't,” Noct shot back, before Prompto could fully react. “Prompto, this is one of those things where you're allowed to want it. You can give your honest answer.”
“Then you have to give yours too. Why can’t you say no if that’s what you think?”
“It would be hypocritical to not let you when you might have to let me do the same thing one day.”
“That different. That’s because you’re king, and what you want doesn’t matter either. In this case, if I have to be honest, so do you.”
“I want you to be happy,” Noct said. “That’s honest.”
“Making you happy makes me happy. If you'd be sad, I'd be devastated, Noct.”
Noct nodded slowly, his face going a little less blank. “All right. You’re right.”
After their flurried back and forth, the room fell silent. Nyx was holding Luna’s hand now, Prompto noticed.
“My answer is yes,” he told her. “I like you, and I'm definitely curious to try it. Only if it wouldn't hurt you, though,” he said, turning to Noct. “I never want to hurt you. Not ever.”
“Yes,” Luna echoed immediately. “I certainly don’t want to proceed if you wouldn’t be comfortable.”
“I … don’t know,” Noct said, staring at the table. “I’d have to think about it. I'm sorry, Prompto. Luna. I'm really sorry.”
“Don't be.”
“Please don’t apologize.”
“I said the same thing,” Nyx told him. “I had to think about it. The idea had never seriously crossed my mind before.”
“After thinking about it, you said yes.” Noct didn’t continue, but Prompto thought he could hear: why?
“I did.” Nyx took a breath to speak, then visibly hesitated. “I had my reasons, but you should think over your own and talk to Prompto. Your relationship is unique to the two of you, different from ours. It's up to you to decide together what you want it to look like.”
“So that you know, Noctis – you’d be welcome to watch,” Luna said.
“I'd want to watch, in case that affects your answer,” Nyx told Prompto. “Not to judge you or anything. I'd mostly be watching her. It might be negotiable, if you have an objection, but to be honest that was part of what closed me on it.”
It didn’t really make a difference to Prompto if Nyx watched. Sex was supposed to be private, but if they were all in on this sex together, he didn’t really see any reason to be shy. Maybe that was the kind of thing that was strange and daring for regular people, though, because Noct’s eyes had gone a little wide.
“It was my suggestion,” Luna said. “I thought it might appeal to both you and Nyx. That way you will be right there with Prompto. You'll get to see him in a way you otherwise wouldn't. I don't mean to pressure you – only to reiterate that our … my intention is not to cut you out of anything or separate him from you.”
“And if the answer is no, no hard feelings.”
“Absolutely. This is just an idle curiosity. No harm will be done if we end up not indulging it.”
“Yeah,” Prompto echoed.
“Sorry to make such a big deal out of it. I'll think about it and we'll let you know,” Noct told the others. “Thanks for ... trusting me enough to ask. For caring about Prompto enough.”
Luna took Noct’s hands in her own. “I care about you too, my childhood prince. My True King. Please don't let me trample on your heart.”
Noct’s face went softer than it had since the conversation began. “All right.”
//
“You would've been happy to marry Noctis,” Nyx said apropos of absolutely nothing when they were washing dishes that evening. “And mean it, I mean.”
How could he always see right through her? “Yes. I love Noctis. He loves me as well, but it’s in a different way.” It was an old disappointment, long since scarred over. “I’ve known for many years, and am content being his cherished friend and confidante.”
“Would you do that if he wasn't the king? If your callings didn't link you to him no matter what?”
Lunafreya stopped drying the plate in her hand. Nyx paused in his work as well, waiting patiently for her to decide how to respond.
“We would never have met otherwise,” she said eventually. “I have no idea who I would be without my calling. It’s so great a part of me, I cannot separate myself from it.”
Nyx put his arm around her, hugging her to him and rubbing her neck. “You’ve really had to put up with a lot, haven't you, Miss Oracle?”
“That is why I’m adamant,” Lunafreya said softly, “when I say the personal joy you’ve offered me means so much.”
They continued washing up in silence, a moment of quiet companionship.
Nyx had agreed about Prompto, he’d told her, because more than anything, he wanted her to have space in her life for herself. She’d trusted him enough to ask for exactly that, so of course he would grant it to her.
“Not space away from you,” she’d tried to assure him. “Merely space to include him also – at least in this small way.”
“It doesn’t have to be small. It can be, if this really is just a physical fling, but you don’t have to downplay it to me if it becomes something else either. As long as I’m your full partner, there’s a lot of room for negotiation as far as I’m concerned.”
Perhaps that was why he was so sanguine about learning she had feelings for Noctis. He could be sure they were no threat to her feelings for him.
As if his thoughts had turned to that subject at the same time, Nyx said, “Maybe getting railed by Noctis’s boyfriend while he watches will be a decent consolation prize.”
She huffed out a laugh. “If they say yes. It's far from a forgone conclusion.”
“My gallant coeurl,” was how Lunafreya chose to start. It was an awkward subject to bring up. It would be easy for Nyx to get the wrong idea. Now in the quiet evening, when they were seated side by side on the sofa in her caravan, seemed as good an opportunity as she could hope for.
“Uh oh,” Nyx replied, but the softness on his face belied any true alarm. “Buttering me up for no reason?”
“I’ve called you that before,” she countered.
“Not for no reason.”
“Very well. I simply … well, I had an interesting idea, which I’ d like to present to you. But I want to forestall any possibility you’ll feel it reflects poorly on you or my feelings toward you.”
“Uh oh,” Nyx repeated with emphasis, softness replaced by actual concern.
“Nyx,” Luna said, shifting closer to him and lacing their fingers together – a demonstration of affection. “It isn’t negative. I don’t intend it that way, at least, and I certainly won’t act on it if you’re not in full agreement. It’s just an idea.”
“The Niffs’ invasion of Insomnia started out as an idea.” Skepticism aside, Nyx let her draw the back of his hand to her lips and kiss it – so she did, slow and reverent. Then, she had no more excuse to hesitate.
“Your offer to be at my side remains one of the great balms of my life,” she reiterated. Then, “What is your personal opinion on nonmonogamy, or polyamory? Are you at all open to it in our relationship?”
Nyx’s hand squeezed hers – either shocked or nervous. “I know I might have to share you with Noctis one day,” he said cautiously, recapitulating conversations they’d had on that topic in the past.
“I’m not referring to Noctis. Nor to anything related to my duty as Oracle.”
Nyx gazed at her. His face wasn’t cold or hurt, but it wasn’t comfortable either. He was still finding his place in her words. “Anyone specific?”
“I’m interested in your opinion in general, but I did have a specific person in mind.”
Nyx raised one eyebrow – well, then?
Luna tried not to feel embarrassed or uncouth. This was merely a conversation, after all – and with her trusted partner, not the person in question. “Prompto.”
Both of Nyx’s eyebrows flew quite far up his forehead. “Prompto,” he repeated. That uncertain face turned contemplative, and he blew out a breath, clearly turning the idea over in his mind. He was not categorically opposed, then. “What brought this on now? Why him instead of anybody else?”
“Noctis mentioned to me that Prompto has come to identify as bisexual. He brought it up in the context of dealing with his own guilt at drawing Prompto into a relationship before he had a chance to fully understand his sexuality – as if Prompto isn’t clearly delighted by the devotion Noctis shows him. Still, it occurred to me that our two couples are already intertwined by certain ties. I’m someone known to him, a friend, someone both he and Noctis can trust.”
Nyx had begun to frown. “Are you suggesting this just for his sake? That doesn’t sound like a great reason to have sex with someone.”
“Certainly not. If Prompto were interested … I could imagine the experience being a mutually enjoyable one.”
Nyx stroked the back of her hand with his thumb while his eyes picked her apart in that insightful way that made her both want to hide herself away behind her title, as she was accustomed to doing with the rest of the world, and bare her full heart to him. A smirk touched his mouth. “’Could imagine’?”
Luna felt her cheeks heat. “Have imagined,” she confessed. When he smirked, she elaborated. “Prompto is good-looking. Diligent. Light-hearted and enthusiastic. I would be … genuinely interested in experiencing those traits personally. At least once.”
“Are you saying I’m not good-looking?” Nyx joked. He gave her a smile and a flirtatious wink.
Luna pulled him toward her and kissed him soundly. “You are also diligent,” she told him. “Also enthusiastic. Is it any wonder Prompto might be appealing to me?”
“You like brave soldiers who adore their powerful, beautiful lovers,” Nyx assessed, devastatingly accurate. “Checks out, I guess.”
“Do you think Noctis is beautiful?” Luna countered, in revenge.
“Just because I’m straight doesn’t mean I can’t tell someone’s face is symmetrical.” His face, inches away from hers, turned serious. “I’ll have to think about it a little. I like Prompto, you know I do, but for him or anyone else to … Well. I guess I’ve been thinking of that side of you as just mine. Is that entitled?”
“I think it’s understandable to default to that mindset absent any discussion to the contrary,” she assured him.
“But now we’ve had a discussion.”
“There’s truly no pressure for you to agree. It was simply an interesting and … somewhat provocative thought.”
They lapsed into silence. Nyx put his arm around her, so she curled close against him – glad to still be welcome there, despite the boldness of her suggestion, the possibility for offense.
“You realize moving forward with your idea would mean we’d have to talk to them about this, right? Both of them at the same time, I guess.” Nyx’s mind was on the logistics of negotiation? “Even if Prompto’s interested – he seems uninhibited about almost everything – don’t you think Noctis is going to freak?”
“Perhaps at first. But … I wonder if he will be tempted by the opportunity to watch.”
Nyx’s eyes darkened at her words, and she felt vindicated in the other half of that theory – that Nyx would be tempted by it also.
Day 8 - Friends to lovers (more like exasperated colleagues to lovers but)
multiamory march ficlets for post-Homecoming #1 (tho this one takes place pre-Warmth)
980 words, T, Lunyx, getting together, not actually poly yet
//
“You remind me of Ravus at times – and I do not presently mean that as a compliment. You are impossibly stubborn.”
“Well, I’m sorry you’re stuck here with me, princess, but that’s not under my control.”
Nyx’s words brought Lunafreya up short. They had been bickering over one of the inconsequential points of friction that arose between adults living in close proximity with one another – when the salt that had been tracked in the back door would be mopped up, what would be prepared for dinner, who had occupied the cabin’s single bathroom for too long. Lunafreya had never been one to be bothered by trivialities before, but here she’d found herself easily drawn into petty arguments with Nyx, who seemed to seek out opportunities to start them – likely because they were both bored and anxious, with all of the many real problems facing the world suddenly out of their reach.
“I’m not,” she said, letting her tone soften.
This surprised Nyx out of his defensive posture. “What?”
“I’m not sorry to be here with you. I am still not convinced I should be hidden away like this, doing nothing. I feel I should be out awakening the Astrals on Noctis’s behalf. But if I am to be here, I am not unhappy it’s with you.”
Nyx stared at her across the sitting room, all the wind taken out of his sails. Finally, he dropped his boots beside the door – a house rule instituted to prevent the tracking in of salt, which Nyx had been about to violate most likely simply because he’d forgotten, Lunafreya’s reflexive accusation to the contrary – and approached her. She shifted over, making room for him on the small sofa, and he sat down beside her. Silence elapsed. It was companionable now.
“Do you miss your brother?” he asked into it eventually.
“I do,” she admitted. “We’re often separated, because of his duties or mine, but it’s worse now that the situation is indefinite and we cannot communicate. I don’t enjoy seeing him aligned with the Empire – we disagree about certain topics – but I understand he has his own reasons for his actions. His position was very different from mine when Tenebrae fell under imperial control. I still worry about him, perhaps nearly as much as he worries about me.”
All that was obvious – analysis an outside observer could make. What she wanted to say next was not. Was it appropriate for her to reveal it to Nyx?
He had been loyal to her, to the line of Lucis, in the face of great danger. She’d called on him to go to great lengths on the world’s behalf, and he’d risen to the occasion. He was good-hearted, accommodated her often with only token complaints, and she enjoyed his company.
He’d nearly died trying to save both her and the Ring from Niflheim’s grasp. The memory sat chill in her heart.
“I try not to grieve things before they happen,” she said carefully. “However … I feel I see where Ravus’s path will lead, and I cannot change it. My calling means I must let him try to protect me, instead of intervening on his behalf or asking him to put himself out of danger. I will, perhaps one day soon, have no choice but to leave him to his fate.”
Lunafreya had never spoken this dread aloud before – this dark, private grief she carried in her heart. She’d only vaguely alluded to it once in her communication with Noctis, because she strove to be an unshakeable, uplifting figure for him. He had his own calling. She would not burden him with the cost of her own.
Nyx was intensely silent beside her. Perhaps it had been too grave a thought to share. “Do you have any siblings?” she asked, to move the conversation along.
When she looked over, his incisive eyes were waiting for her.
“I did,” he said, “but I couldn’t change her fate either.” Before Luna had even finished processing that, registered her own shock and sympathetic grief, he added, “So I’m all yours, princess. For as long as you want me at your side.”
‘I’m yours’ – words unheard of in Lunafreya’s adult life. Since the day her mother died, all she’d ever been told was ‘you’re ours’. His declaration stirred something else in her heart also, but that was a selfish hope she could never afford. His service to her calling was enough. “As my protector,” she said, for her own sake as much as his.
“As whatever you want,” he responded.
Did he mean that? Lunafreya struggled to discern whether she was simply reading her own wishes into his words.
Nyx’s averted his eyes. “As a friend,” he added. She’d been silent too long, and he was losing his nerve.
When he began to turn away, she acted purely by instinct, raising her hand to cup his jaw.
Now Nyx’s eyes were searingly intense. After a moment, he slowly leaned in, crossing the short distance between them as if he meant to kiss her.
“I will always be the Oracle first,” she said quickly, before he did something he might regret.
Nyx didn’t even waver. “That’s what you just said. I heard you. But in between the Oracle’s duties, I could kiss Luna from time to time. If that’s something you’d like.”
Lunafreya didn’t really know. She’d never tried it before (other than one encounter with an Imperial commander who hadn’t consulted her beforehand). Who could she have tried it with? “I think I might.”
“One way to find out for sure,” Nyx said, and then he kissed her – slow and simple, gentle despite the roughness of his stubble, confident enough that she could follow his lead.
By the time he was done, the Oracle of the Six felt a little more human than she had in a very long while.
There were a number of feral cats on the Crownsguard base. Some of them would let Prompto pet them if he bribed them with a treat. Some wouldn’t. He wondered how similar it would be with the MTs.
Ex-MT!Prompto meeting new people, BroT4 royal retinue vibes, ultra-sweet Promptis of course, and an entire MT factory's worth of angst.

"I wish you would write a fic where" meme: where Noctis has his private life exposed by gossip magazines maybe?
Ignis settles a hand on Noctis's shoulder and gives him a reassuring squeeze. "Your PR team will be here within the hour to draft a statement," he says, though his voice sounds distant, muffled, past the ringing in Noctis's ears.
It's a nice picture, the one on Ignis's phone, probably taken by actual paparazzi and not just a random citizen who had walked by the park bench Noctis and Prompto had been sitting on. Noctis had picked one pretty far away from the main trail in that park so they wouldn't attract attention. Not that that had helped them, apparently.
They're both bundled up for the mid-autumn weather, both of them holding cups of coffee. The magazine has blurred out the coffee company's logos, but not Prompto's face. Prompto's face, scrunched up and laughing as he tries to brush out the leaves that have fallen into his hair. And Noctis, beside him, looking at him with such a soft, telling expression on his face--
"We're not dating," Noctis says, right over whatever logistics Ignis is in the middle of explaining.
"Noct--"
"We're not," Noctis says, a little desperate. He shoves Ignis's phone and the damning photo back to him. "I haven't--" He swallows hard. "I haven't said anything. Asked him out. I haven't--I was going to," he says quieter. "After his birthday."
And now everyone in Insomnia knows about Noctis's feelings for him before Prompto does.
I was commissioned by the wonderful @carolyncaves to illustrate a scene from the new chapter of Warmth. It's one of my favourite fics of all time and I'm so honored for this request ;w; If you're looking for a cosy and touching read with some MT!Prompto flavour, go check it out!

I figured out why I was having formatting problems with my story collection (it was a printer setting) so I did a test print today and look look look!
It looks like what the inside of a proper book should look like!! I’m thrilled! Now I just need to get it all stitched up and fitted with a proper case and it will be a book!
If you, too, would like your own copy of this little illustrated collection, I will be making the PDF available to download FOR FREE from my ko-fi profile! That should be ready as soon as I get the assembly instructions typed out. Watch here for more information!
(It’s formatted for 8.5x11; I’ll try to get an A4 version ready, too, but I’ll have to do it blind with no test prints, because I don’t have any A4 paper rn.)
