Take 2 - worked on a new piece today and needed some absurdity so let the marking up of three gessoed cobs commence with Dada-isms. Soon to be sent to the Museum of Collage to replace the three that sat in a place of honor for a moment - right on #KurtSchwitters lap. OK, not his actual lap but a rendition of Kurt himself! Sometimes you gotta make something for your very own self. I am making a pattern for a pot my orchid plants. They are clearly bound up in the plastic in which they were purchased. Reading up on their needs, they need to be released. Working on a group of them, with not quite vitrified clay, with lots of breathing and drainage holes. They are about the only indoor gardening I do half way with success. Stay tuned. Dear friend @masonnnathan thinks I should add color to this (lately) favorite red stoneware clay body. Heart Assemblage for Be Mine in collaboration with the previously published poem written by #Jennifer Dotson, in its entirety below: Painted 100 yr old oak lath, (excerpts from) Dotson’s poem, esemic text, found arrow, faux neon light strip. . Emotional Solution . I am stapling my anger by its ear to the cork board but it refuses to stay put. I’m thumbtacking fear and nailing jealousy but they wriggle and writhe on the wall. Duct tape works well on shame and regret but even extreme stickiness won’t fix them in place. I’m running out of supplies to keep my emotions in check. Hope and love better get here soon. It is OK to have an art hangover, right? #latergram post. Finally sharing images of #GeneralShermansFootprint deinstall for @fermentationdtour @farmartdtour Thank you for the help, @kickinbutler and the willingness to lay on the ground, inside the footprint, for just a bit of good breathing, surrounded by alfalfa and a few curious humans. The painted 100 yr old path is bound, stacked, and stored back in the basement studio of its provenance, where it was quietly embedded in plaster for 100 years. Oak lath, salvaged, painted, poems, then formed into the footprint of the world’s largest tree, celebrating (about) 2200 years on this earth, is beyond my comprehension. Last photo, a much better one than mine, was taken by land host Dale Jaedike. It was stunning to me the number of estimated people that went along the self guided FarmArtDTour route, estimated at 200,000 fellow humans. Much gratitude to @wormfarm_institute for including this work. Also to @philipandpetal @kickinbutler and #JenniferDotson for your poems and movement works.
