This is the business blog for Cascadia Vape, a locally owned Seattle-based e-retailer providing smarter and healthier alternatives for those who might otherwise be smokers. Cascadia Vape has the e-cig/vape device right for you, whether you’re a tobacco smoker trying to quit, an herb connoisseur seeking a healthier delivery system, or simply wish to enjoy the benefits of a less harmful and costly habit which is increasingly socially acceptable (especially compared to smoking tobacco). As one who has had experience with both smoking and vaporizing, I’m convinced that there’s enough benefits to vaping in comparison to smoking (including feeling, performing and looking better) to make it an effective means of harm reduction when used responsibly as an alternative. While harm reduction is often associated with needle exchange programs, it’s a public health approach which can be applied to all drugs including alcohol, nicotine and even cannabis. Studies have shown that smoking cannabis is less likely to lead to lung cancer relative to smoking tobacco cigarettes because of cancer fighting properties of cannabinoids, but cannabis smoke still contains toxic compounds such as benzyprene which is also found in tobacco smoke. Over the years there’s been numerous innovations making vaporizers smaller, easier to use, safer, more powerful and efficient. My decision to enter the industry stems from a dual interest in harm-reduction aspects of e-cigs as well as innovations in devices for cannabis users. The content we post on this blog will reflect these interests as well as related topics such as health studies, cannabis culture, Big Tobacco and the drug war. We’ll also feature info on upcoming sales, in-person marketing events, product/store updates and occasional posts about happenings in our community. Why Choose Cascadia Vape? Cascadia Vape features a diverse selection of high quality and versatile e-cig and vape devices that are user-friendly, priced competitively, and designed for different uses including e-liquids, dry herbs, and oil, wax or solid concentrates. All of the devices we sell which are compatible with e-liquids come with one complimentary bottle of organic e-liquid 100% made in the U.S. Cascadia Vape also provides information for those who are new to e-cigs and vaping and more experienced smokers/vapers who would like to learn more.

Marijuana money may push California into public banking
By Ephrat Livni (Quartz) Marijuana-related businesses face a funny problem: they make lots of money yet can’t securely put it in banks. The US banking system is nationally regulated and weed’s illegal under federal law, a Schedule I substance with no accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse, according to the Drug Enforcement Agency. So cannabis-related deposits cannot be federally…

FDA’s Vaping Regulations Will Hurt Smokers Trying to Quit
Because lawmakers didn’t understand that the future might bring new, better products, we’ll soon be stuck with only the old, dirty options. By Eric Boehm (reason.com) Electronic cigarettes are now the most popular technique used by Americans who want to quit smoking. But that pathway could close later this year, thanks to shortsighted federal regulations that effectively prevent innovation. When…

The only way to systemically lower costs is to make prevention and transparency the top priorities.
As I have been noting for a decade, the broken U.S. healthcare system will bankrupt the nation all by itself. We all know the basic facts: the system delivers uneven results in terms of improving health and life expectancy while costing two or three…
