Alek took on a very serious expression and lowered his head slightly. “Everything, and I mean everything means something. No matter what there will always be a hidden meaning behind actions.” He paused, obviously for dramatic flair. “Just you wait buddy, I’ll find out one way or another that you’ve got a secret Webkinz account based on how you cross your legs and breathe.”
However, Alek was never a good one at keeping a straight face in such an on the spot joke so it really only took him a couple of seconds before bouncing back to his usual neutral expression; which didn’t really last from the compliment thrown at him.
“I think you need to get your eyes checked out pretty boy, last I checked I looked like a sewer rat that didn’t make it into Ratatouille.” He let out a small chuckle at the end, imaging himself in a situation where he would live in a big city and walk down the streets in an oversized rat costume for some live action remake. Funny.
“However, I do desperately need help and I would never turn down an offer to boost my grade in whatever way I can.” Natrix paused and ruffled through his jacket’s pocket until the familiar plastic case of his phone was felt. He did a couple of taps to find his contact book which probably took longer than needed due to his current theme of cute icons with no reference to the actual widget and opened up a new contact tab.
“Here, plop yourself in and make yourself at home.”
Although the atmosphere was serious, Touya didn’t really let the words sink in. He wasn’t the type of person to curse over every word and action, looking for the truth behind it.
“You sound a little bit like the mentor character in an RPG. Up to the Webkinz part, although... maybe I’m just not playing the right RPGs.”
The brunet considered Alek’s opinion on his looks, then leaned forward to gently flick his nose. It was best to nip that kind of behavior in the bud, lest it continue and grow unhealthy.
“Beauty is always... always in the eye of the beholder. I think you’re the blind one, to not see there is some appeal in your on-the-brink druggie look. Try not to sink into narcissism though.”
He accepted the phone, typing in his number first, then putting his name in as ‘Biouya’ before saving the new contact and handing it back.
“Be sure to text me sooner rather than later, so we can figure out when we have time to go over the notes together. Maybe I’ll even share my book with you, if you need it.”
