LEVERAGE: REDEMPTION - S01x10 The Unwellness Job
[Breanna] Everything is booting back up now!
Actually: Game Time! Every character gets one fuckword in the whole original series. Where do you put it? ex. i just put in a vote for nate to say “i fucked up” instead of “screwed up” during his performance in the Long Goodbye Job
Nate gets his in the long goodbye job as stated previously. obviously.
breanna gets hers in her speech at the end of the card game job
Harry gets his in his "i want them to suffer" breakdown in the too many rembrants job
Parker gets hers either when she's threatening to drop tara off the roof or when she's arguing with astrid on the roof in redemption. i forgot the episode names
Sophie. my first thought was in the flashback where she gets shot by Nate. or if one of her grifts cursed like a sailor for literally no reason. (my vote is her grift in the polygeist job)
Hardison. he should have so many but i have to either give it to the rundown job when he says he's scared right before eliot grabs his neck. Or the grave danger job so he can curse as he's freaking out
I have multiple i would give Eliot. but Eliot should say fuck at the very beginning of the double edged sword job during the debrief when he walks in. "What's up parker where's she at right now" -> "where the fuck is she"
honorable Eliot mentions: big bang job 'worst thing i've ever done' speech and the 'serve your head on a platter' threat in the french connection job.
these are all excellent takes, however I would like to submit that Eliot, instead of any of the very legitimate places he could be doing emotionally-charged swearing, should get to complete the die hard quote in the radio job
YESSSSZ
No, Nate uses his in… is it the ho ho ho job? The one where he confesses he failed to do his job. Giving it to him in the Last Goodbye just lets it be part of the act. I want a real “fuck”. (Other short list options: helicopter love confession to Sophie; screaming at Blackpool about sleeping in his car in front of Maggie; admitting he would have blown his fucking brains out to a Maggie; rescue my fucking wife from prison.. Eliot taking him away from Sophie’s bomb… okay, so I want Nate to use fuck from love, you get the idea.) (side note, shout out to the possibilities at the end of the radio job, whether when talking to his dad on the phone, or when he first argues with him)
Parker’s fuck should be over something non-emotionally interpersonal. It could be a comedic one - that could be fun (“what? I thought that’s what we were talking about?”) maybe as in “okay, Sophie and Nate are fucking. Anyway, what’s next in the heist?”). Could be when she asks Eliot to kill the psychic though. Or in the ice cave. That would work.
I definitely vote for Eliot in Radio Job. Imo he has too much control to slip and his character doesn’t swear. So it needs to be something purposeful. I’d consider the rundown job when he convinces Hardison to help, though. To give it to him while he’s “playing hitter” undermines its power.
Hardison: first time Parker pushes him off a building.
Sophie’s interesting. If I stick with my “no character” rule - I want it to be THEIR fuck, not a role they’re playing, there’s a lot less opportunities for her, by nature of being a grifter. Waking up in Nate’s bed in San Lorenzo? When she sees Nate at her door in London -“Fuck. Who died?”? In response to Parker not escaping from the Steranko famine building (forgotten the job name)? Most of the time she bickers with Nate doesn’t suit - she’s not truly worked up. Maybe the “what the fuck was that” scene defending Parker that’s doing the rounds at the moment. Maybe her monologue about weddings early season 1? That could be a fun one…
I forgot to say!!!!! When I actually wanted Parker’s fuck!!! Which is the broken wing job. It is frustration at her body failing her. Maybe in the vent, maybe when she forgets and has to hop around in frustration. But that’s my dream Parker “fuck” point.
Die Hard quote Die Hard quote Die Hard quote for Eliotttttt 💙 but I love all of these
Its so funny to me that Eliot got to say the whole Quote in the german dub XDDD I cheered!
omg win for German Eliot!
Eliot besotted idiot Spencer + smiling with Parker and Hardison
The difference in how Sophie and Eliot get into character is that Sophie is an incredible grifter who can easily pretend to be any sort of person, while Eliot is a guy who can thrive in every environment and just occasionally gets to test out one of his alternate lifestyles.
the funniest part about watching bones is the titular character is pathologically rational. to the point is emotionally hurts people around her from time to time. and yet this is also a show that canonically has -
The Cyndi Lauper as a psychic doing ACCURATE tarot readings
the main character being helped by the ghost of his dead army buddy to get out of a kidnapping. the same ghost even talks to his unaware partner while they’re visiting his grave
a whole episode from the pov of a the dead body’s skull which happens to have the dead person’s soul in it
an episode where the killer gets possessed by a ghost driving him to kill his brother but it just isn’t brought up again
a guy who has an uncanny ability to find lost things, to the point it isn’t even explainable by the most rational character of them
Confirmation that it exists in the same universe as Sleepy Hollow and all it’s supernatural stuff
One of the main character dies and then visits his niece as an imaginary friend
What makes Leverage a great show is that Nate has your standard Catholic guilt, Sophie is a chronic liar who struggles with genuine vulnerability, Parker and Eliot invent eighteen new types of repression with every episode, and Hardison is just trying to make a group hug happen.
"Okay, Parker, don't panic. You're just having a little conversation."
Leverage S01E09 The Stork Job.
Last night I was talking to my boyfriend, and I couldn’t think of the word ‘library’, so I said ‘book ranch’. He thought it was hilarious and started making up alternative names for ‘librarian’.
“Cowbook! Like cowboy! No…Readcher? Like Rancher? No, fuck this is hard…”
and just now I heard him yell “BOOKAROO” from the other end of the apartment in the most triumphant tone of voice i’ve ever heard
“Howdy, pardner. Name’s Tex. Biblio Tex.”
