Cass: I'm sorry, I know it's late, but can I come to your dorm?
Cass: I had a not-so-great nightmare and I don't want to be alone right now.
Cass shut her laptop reluctantly, fidgeting with her hands as she turned to look up at Dillon. “Sorry. I have a lot of work to do.”
“I never said you had to stop what you were doing,” she stated. “It was just an observation, Cass.”
Cass shook her head. "I was being rude. Sorry. Do you want to sit down?"
Cass shut her laptop reluctantly, fidgeting with her hands as she turned to look up at Dillon. "Sorry. I have a lot of work to do."
Cass smiled faintly as she realized who was talking to her. "I feel the same way." It was all she offered, before turning back to frown at her laptop, chewing her lip.
“Look, it’s his job to handle these things, I’m sure he can- Jesus. Okay, tell him I’ll get the files for him tonight. Bye.” Cass hung up quickly, letting out a heavy sigh. “Sorry about that.”
“No don’t worry. It’s okay.” Olivia said with a small smile. “If you’re busy I can go.”
"No, Liv, it's alright." Cass sighed. "I'm always busy."
cass-hangard:
“I would love to watch you fail baby DIYs.” Cass laughed. “I know. I have to take one FaceTime call tonight, okay? And then I’ll hand it over.”
“I’m holding you to it, both the phone and the baby DIYs.”
Cass laughed. "Good." As she spoke, her phone began to ring again. Her expression wavered, as she glanced back down at Cherub.
"I would love to watch you fail baby DIYs." Cass laughed. "I know. I have to take one FaceTime call tonight, okay? And then I'll hand it over."
"I know, and I have hired people. I've hired a lot of people. But I still can't let go of control." She let out a laugh. "I will read the shit out of your daddy blog, pregnant or not."
"I just- I feel like I have to put out the small fires before they get big, you know? And I feel like I can't do that if I'm not in contact." She groaned. "I need to get married and pregnant so I can be a stay at home mom, or something. If I do that now, I'm just single and unemployed."
"Cherub, I love you dearly, but I don't think you'd understand most of what's going on.." She sighed. "I barely do, and it's my company."
Cass rested her head in her hands. "I know. I know, but I can't help but be a control freak. I have them updating me 24/7. And it turns out someone's been leaking-" Shaking her head, she sat up. "I don't think it's a good idea. What if there's an emergency?"
Cass stood up and began pacing as she listened to the voice on the other end. "No, I know- it's unacceptable, and you need to tell him that. We can't allow it. Can you- I'm sure you're capable of handling- Really? Jesus, I'll FaceTime you in a few hours, alright? Can you make sure to have him on call- Alright, bye." She hung up, letting out a heavy sigh as she sat back down. "I'm sorry about that." She gave him a warm smile. "What were you saying?"
"Look, it's his job to handle these things, I'm sure he can- Jesus. Okay, tell him I'll get the files for him tonight. Bye." Cass hung up quickly, letting out a heavy sigh. "Sorry about that."
Cass was listening to the other when her phone began to ring. She ignored it, but when it started again, she let out a soft sigh. “I’m really sorry- do you mind if I take this? I’m being so rude, but I just need to make sure it isn’t anything important.”
Cass resisted the urge to roll her eyes, instead forcing a smile. “I can resend it to you, if you’d like. If you’re going to deduct marks, is there a way for me to make it up?”
scientificschuyler:
“Miss Hangard, I specifically remember requesting that nothing be hand in early.”
She sighed. “I don’t remember that, so I’m sorry. Can I ask why?”
“Yes well, you see this is where we start to have a problem,” he began to explain. “I’ve given everyone a week to hand in this assignment and you’ve failed to hand it in. Why is that?”
“Sir, I handed it in early.” Cass explained. “Remember?”
