How Did We Get Here? tour July 20th 2026
Louis Tomlinson named his 2026 tour How Did We Get Here? after reflecting on the unexpected success of his solo career in his song āLucidā.
Louis Tomlinson named his 2026 tourĀ How Did We Get Here?Ā after reflecting on the unexpected success of his solo career in his song āLucidā. But this past Wednesday at Madison Square Garden in New York City, there was no need to ask that question. Surrounded by a sold-out crowd of fans singing every word back to him, Tomlinson celebrated the milestone with tears in his eyes, embracing just how far he had come.
He began the night with the albumās title track, āLemonade,ā an infectious, upbeat summer anthem that had the entire crowd on its feet, waving their hands in the air. As he seamlessly transitioned into āOn Fire,ā āOut of My System,ā and āDark to Light,ā the venue transformed into a dance floor, where unforgettable moments were made with other Louies.
During the second half of the set, the atmosphere shifted as Tomlinson performed āSunflowers.ā The dance-floor energy gave way to a quieter, more intimate moment, with fans swaying along to the song. In one of the lower sections, two girls wore oversized sunflower hats in honor of the track, adding a fun and heartfelt touch to the performance.
In addition to songs from the new album, he performed āSide by Side,ā a fan-favorite demo included on the albumās extended edition. Emotions ran high during āDefenceless,ā as longtime fans knew exactly what was coming next. Tears filled the arena when the opening notes of One Directionās āNight Changesā rang out, a song every Directioner knew by heart and one that had soundtracked countless memories over the years.
Then came the moment fans had been waiting for. The arena glowed with a coordinated display of red, yellow, and white lights from fansā phones as Louis poured his heart into the performance. It was so breathtaking that Louis got a little emotional, along with the audience.
The nearly three-hour setlist was not what made the night unforgettable; it was the Louies (the fans), their passion, creativity, community, and love for Louis that made the night feel ethereal. Together, Louis Tomlinson and his fans turned Madison Square Garden into a celebration of how far they had come.
āI f**cking cherished every year of that band; it was incredible. And yāknow there was a time when that was not a thing anymore, and we called it f**cking hiatus, alright? So I was kind of in the same place again. I was, āI really want this singing thing to work out. I do not want to let this go. I do not want to give up. To my own determination, I could not even see the finish line. I want you guys to know.. I say a version of this every night. I simply would not have the confidence to scale at a place like MSG⦠I feel really f**ing proud of what we created⦠we did it.ā -Louis Tomlinson

kiley.rowe: Iām not sure what Iām more excited about, my debut at Madison Square Garden or the fact that the 13 year old version of myself who had One Direction posters all over her room just got to share the stage with Louis Tomlinson?!?
I couldnāt have done this without the generosity and flawless leadership ofĀ @ francescadardaniĀ , and the overwhelming friendship and musicianship fromĀ @ matildehecklerĀ andĀ @ adeleshellĀ <3
Also shoutout to my forever bestieĀ @ kimmylugoĀ for coming to support and getting some sick shots of me on stage <3
A night I will never forget! Onto the next!
