Cass didnât know how long sheâd been sitting at the table staring at her laptop. Probably for at least the last thirty minutes, her face resting in the palm of her hand as she groaned and let out a frustrated sigh. She usually got her best work done in the coffee shop, but she had hit a snag and had yet to overcome it, only furthering her growing irritation. âUgh,â she grumbled to herself as she ran a hand through her hair and let her hand settle on her coffee instead. âMy brain feels like itâs dead right now.â Her grip on her cup tightened enough for her nail to puncture a hole in the foam, the hot liquid soon spilling across her hand. âOw!â she startled, jerking her hand back as it burned her. âDamn it,â she cursed, hurrying to look around for some napkins since, of course, her table just happened to not have any. Quickly finding another personâs table, she plastered on a forced smile in an attempt to make herself look not as frazzled. âHi. Yeah, sorry, can I steal some of your napkins?â
