In the readings I was surprised to learn how old the GIF was, being created in 1987 seems so early since it was still about five years before the World Wide Web was created. I was also intrigued to see so many ways that the art community tried to sell GIFs at art shows and auctions, whether it be sold as a physical item like a sheet with screens embedded into it to display the GIF or the digital file be given on a USB device. The fact that many communities made such a big deal about the GIF showed the impact it made on the world and how it is here to stay.
This is one of my favorite gifs, it shows what can be done with an image to make something trippy and beautiful.
I really enjoy this one because I love snowboarding and there is no better feeling than carving in powder.
Marilyn Manson is my favorite musician and many people wouldnât expect him to smile like he does.
GIFs that are made to be trippy are some of my favorites, bright colors and a slightly moving image are fun to look at.
The way this GIF gives me the mental image of Morticia asking âmind if I smoke?â right before doing this will always make me laugh.
What isnât there to love about a cat GIF? Especially a black cat, which are my favorite and the type of cat I own.
A simple animation with a spooky theme and cats, that is why I think this is fabulous.
My favorite line from my favorite movie, Beetlejuice.
Snow is one of the most beautiful things in the world, a heavy snow like this is heaven to me.
This style of animation is so calming and nice to look at.
