Alone in a foreign country, I had to plan my escape on my own.

I was 6 years old when my two older sisters went to Palestine to “visit family.” At least that’s what my mom told me.

I was born in Chicago, like my sisters, but our parents are Palestinian, born in Jerusalem. I was four-months-old when our father died — he worked at a gas station and was shot during a robbery. After that, the four of us moved into the basement apartment of my mom’s mother’s house, where my sisters and I shared a room.

Book Cravings

*late one evening in the Malfoy library. Draco, Blaise, Harry and Ron sitting in front of the fire*

Harry: So how is she?

Draco: More tired these days, it's to be expected, but she is doing well.

Blaise: Best to let her get as much rest as possible now, because once the baby is here she won't be sleeping much. *chuckles*

Draco: Oh you have no idea, she won't even let me hire a nanny to help out! Something about not wanting another woman raising her child.

Harry: Maybe you can temporarily hire a house elf to assist her with the care? Not as a nanny, but just someone to be there and give her a hand when you aren't around.

Ron: Heck I'm sure one of the elves you already have has experience with babies, and could help.

Draco: Hmm...that's not a bad idea, she might go for it.

Ron: So, why are we drinking in the library tonight? We normally play cards in the den for our guys night.

Draco: Because of Hermione.

Harry: What's wrong? You just said she was fine!

Draco: *rolls eyes* Oh she is. *chuckles*. You'll see *glances at watch*, in 3...2...1, now. *Looks at door*

*Door opens, a sleepy pregnant Hermione walks in with her nice round belly, wearing her maternity house robe. Draco instantly hands his drink to Blaise and goes to her*

Draco: *kisses her forehead* Hello love, feeling better? *Hermione smiles and nods*

Harry: Sorry 'Mione did we wake you?

Hermione: *yawns, rubbing the sleep from her eyes* Hey guys. No, don't worry it's not that. It's just- *looks to wall of books, bites lower lip*

Draco: Which do you crave tonight?

Blaise: *at Ron and Harry's look of confusion* Hermione doesn't seem to get food cravings...*Draco and Hermione walk off to the shelves*...she has Book Cravings. *stifles laugh*

Ron: You know...that makes a lot of sense.

*Draco and Hermione return with a book, and lounge on the chaise. Hermione leaning back into Draco's arms, opens her book and begins reading. Draco puts one arm around to rest on her swollen belly, and the other reaches to accept his drink back from Blaise*

Draco: *kisses the top of her head, and smiles to the group* And this, gentlemen, is why we are now having guys night in the library.

Hey um who do you think Hermione is better with?

Between who? if we’re talking the popular pairings i think they all have some merit. Ron is good cause he’s loyal to a fault, and although he sees her flaws he admires her and knows how amazing she is. Harry is good for kind of the same reasons, but his skills really balance hers. I’m biased but obviously i think Draco. Because they are both the top of their class, and really challenge and can make each other better. Ron and Harry both know hermiones amazing, but i feel like Draco can take that to the next level. I think Hermione also complements him in a way she doesn’t with the other two. She would push him to be the best man he can be. Totally biased, but dramione all the way.

clean & marked by olivieblake: two of my faves, clean takes place in 6th year, and marked takes place during the war, there are so many plot twists in this series, it’s amazing, beautifully written, i love it

difficult by provocative-envy: one of my favorite fic writers ever, she is so so so talented, this is a basic hogwarts fic, I think it takes place 6th year but I don’t really remember but I do that remember I liked this

silencio by akashathekitty: so much drama in this one! 6th year (haha do you see a trend?) personally their relationship moved way to fast for me, but this is still really good

beautiful things can come from the dark by yesterdayschild4: despite the rape themes (it’s not D who rapes H), this fic is obnoxiously fluffy and I loved it

delilah’s black book of poems by dark whisper: ONE OF MY FAVES!!! forbidden romance in this is so heart-wrenching!!! and “If you were mine” is one of the most iconic moments I have ever read

live again by sophie733: why is this not more popular?? basically everyone dies in the war, and D&H go back in time to fix it

presque toujours pur by shayalonnie: hermione is revealed to be pureblood, which changes basically everything, this fic is so interesting, though, post war hogwarts

finders by everythursday: hermione and draco have to work together to solve a mystery at hogwarts, this is heavy on the plot and the romance is more of a background story, post war hogwarts

virtus et ludicium by anjalimalfoy: to be honest, I don’t remember what this is about, but based on my abundance of highlighting in my books app, I must have liked it..? seventh year dramione

suppressed emotions by hoplesslydevoted.xx: someone is after hermione, and draco is given the task of protecting her. this fic is amazing, I loved how their relationship is so slow burn

and we all fall down by rumaan: this is sooo good. draco malfoy comes back to hogwarts halfway through the year after a stint in azkaban.

Draco: yeah you're right. I am still regretting it til now.
