slavexisabelâ:
âA date?â Isabel couldnât help but feel a little flabbergasted for a moment, before writing it off. The last couple of birthdays had been solemn ones and she saw no real reason that the next one might be any different. Though she did blush when she realized sheâd been asked for her name - and at the compliment.  âIsabel, Miss. Isabel Hai Phan.â
How werewolfy am I smelling? Sheâd already realized the woman was supernatural - there was no way she was human carrying a basket so large. But she hadnât been sure of precisely what. The shifter giggled, shaking her head for a moment.  âI canât really tell like this. Iâd change but,â she pointed at her collar and shrugged.  âBut the cats at the cafe are used to all kinds of supers? It takes the new ones a little bit to adjust but we donât have any right now.â
.
âIsabel,â Cassie repeated, committing the name to memory. âA lovely name, beautiful as the girl it belongs to,â she said, still grinning, and if she was laying it on a bit thick, well--it was just that the girl was so very pretty when she blushed, and anyway, she didnât seem bothered by Cassie flirting.
Isabelâs giggling brought an answering laugh out of Cassie, pleased to have inspired such a sweet sound. âWell, thatâs no fun,â she said, reaching out to run a finger over the collar. It didnât suit her, she thought--the dark leather was too harsh for Isabel, who, as far as Cassie could tell, was all softness. âYouâre a shifter of some kind then?â She didnât smell like a werewolf, but while Cassie was not entirely unfamiliar with other supernaturals, she could not claim any skill at telling their various scents apart--not yet, at least. âIâd let you, if I could. Is that a thing theyâll let me do?â This question, apparently, did not necessarily need an answer, because she kept talking immediately.
âLead the way then, Isabel! Nothing this birthday girl loves more than pussy, so letâs go pet some cats! Oh--I almost forgot!â With no small amount of delight, she pointed the spring-loaded tube in her hands towards the sky and opened it, a shower of rainbow colored glitter exploding over them and raining down. She grinned at the way the little flakes caught in Isabelâs hair, reached out a hand to swipe away one that was dangerously close to getting in her eye. âThere. Now we look ready to celebrate.â
