her words almost caught him to choke on his drink, quickly pulling it away from himself so he could cough. “hormonal guys ?? let me tell you, i am definitely one of those.” he said with raised eyebrows, a laugh leaving his lips as he just realized what he just confessed. taking another bite of his burger at the same time as she did, he listened to her faux-threat, and he tried his hardest not to laugh while eating. “mhm. you sure are a dangerous lady. and, like, 5 feet tall. cute.” he joked along, leaning over to grab more fries. he also held out the filled up cup for her so she could have some. “they is the ladies, of course. i am the man of the hills, adriana. hasn’t miki told you that ??” he obviously was joking around with her, a sheepish grin on his face. “okay, no, honestly– my parents are too unoriginal to give my twin a different name. they found my sister’s name on a masterlist.” chuckling softly, seth leaned back and continued to eat, trying to think of a question he could ask her. “would you rather look good and be poor, or look ugly and be rich ??”

adriana couldn’t hide her laugh when he started coughing. “ oh my god.” she murmured, already expecting such a reaction to what she had just said. “ fuckboy?” she raised her eyebrows, already anticipating what his answer would be, yet she still felt the need to ask him explicitly. her drink was almost finished, so she was taking small sips to save more for later. rolling her eyes at his statement, adriana shook her head to denote her disapproval. “ don’t underestimate my high heels. it took me some practicing to master the art of walking in them, but i am a pro at it now and i can definitely use them as my weapon.” a smirk appeared on her lips, putting the tea on the coffee table to grab some chips that he was offering her. “ yeah, miki told me that but she wasn’t very detailed about you. but, i kinda noticed you were the fuckboy of the town the first time we met.” she recalled the scene, not being able to hold back a chuckle. her brown eyes scanned his face when he talked about his sister, acting as if she was aware of that fact. “ that’s cute.” she simply replied. his question made her frown for a second -- was he playing mind games? “ ugly and rich, duh. when you’re rich you can buy all the stuff to become hot. i can confirm that.” she laughed. “ why do you want to know that?”

“actually– this was way more interesting than two chicks making out for the first time.” seth teased, leaning back into the comfortable pillows on the couch while having his burger in one hand and his drink in the other. “right.. because you can’t get new furniture.” he spoke with raised eyebrows, refusing to ever stop teasing her. as he took another bite of his burger, he stopped midway to chuckle softly at her comment, quickly continuing to eat. “that’s what they call me.” as he leaned over to grab some fries, he shrugged a little. “i would hate having a twin. ain’t no one got game like me. there’s one seth !!  no room for two.” obviously joking about the whole twin thing, secretly finding it all pretty cool, he let out a laugh after his words. “hm.. i’d normally say yes. but actually, no. i wanna know all about you, adri.” he said with a smile, sitting up to face her better. “so tell me everything what i don’t know about you.”

laughing at his comment, she looked at him with a wide smirk. “ so, you aren’t like those hormonal guys, hm?” she tried to tease him before she took another sip of her drink. the words that had just escaped her lips weren’t serious, however, she just wanted to observe his reaction. taking another bite of her burger, she rolled her eyes at seth’s comment. “ if i have to change my furniture because of you, i won’t spare you.” she faux-threatened him, even though she had no idea what she could even do. he was much taller than her and she’d be lying if she’d say that his muscles had failed to impressed her. “ they? who’s they?” she asked with raised eyebrows, a small smirk playing on her lips. adriana let out a loud laugh at what he said. “ obviously there would be just one seth if you’d have a twin. but fine, god.” she shook her head. chewing nervously on her lip when she heard his request, adriana nodded, heaving a deep sigh. “ alright.” she mumbled, having a hard time to realize she was about to tell someone who she really was like. “ well, where do i start? what do you want to know first?” she asked.

a smirk was on his lips as he watched her reaction to him putting the straw in the drink through the corner of his eye, knowing she didn’t understood how she forgot that. holding in his laugh, he continued to stuff his mouth with fries before turning back to her as she began to speak again. “hm,” he murmured with a full mouth, nodding eagerly at her comment about eating burgers ‘classily’. that was something impossible, in seth’s world. however, once the raven haired girl began to eat, his eyes widened a little bit at how neat she was doing it. “wow,” he brought out, chuckling softly. “i’m shook. wanna see how i eat burgers ??” he said, reaching over to grab one. he took a big bite, causing to spill some sauce on his jeans. with a shrug, he continued to eat, eventually wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. “was that charming enough ??” he joked, taking a sip of his drink. as she told him the information about her dad, the red head simply nodded in response, not really knowing how else to react. “oh.. right. well.. everything i said was all me.” seth laughed, trying to crack a funny comment through the awkward tension between them.

noticing his reaction, she couldn’t help but laugh. “ god, it was like you were watching two chicks make out for the first time or something.” she tilted her head back before sitting up straight again. nodding at his question, she curiously looked at him. even though it was something irrelevant, she was very curious to know how messy he was during eating. noticing the sauce dripping and ruining his jeans, adriana raised her eyebrows. “ wow.” she snickered. “ at least you didn’t ruin my furniture.” she pointed out, taking another bite of her burger. “ you’re even more charming than prince charming.” she joked, wiggling her eyebrows at him. it took her a while to understand what he meant, but once she got it, she couldn’t help but let out a chuckle. “ right.” she nodded. “ i don’t think the world would mind if you had a twin, though.” she complimented, stretching her legs out in front of her after her knees started to ache. “ want me to turn on the tv?” she asked, wondering if there was anything they could talk to each other about.

his eyes followed her every single movement, simply finding it hard to focus on something else but her. once again, a smile appeared on his face as she sat down next to him. normally he would’ve scooted closer, but he would understand that the tension between them was way too high to do so. not to forget, his heart was beating faster and his hands were sweaty because he was in her presence. he knew he liked her, but did she even like him back ?? was he annoying her by constantly coming over ?? “okay, i’m glad.” he said, seeing her grab her drink without the straw. with a chuckle, he leaned over to grab it and take it out of the paper packaging before pushing it into her drink. “you’re welcome. again.” seth laughed, noticing how this was her second time thanking him. for what ?? this wasn’t that big of a deal for him, at all. “oh, yeah. i didn’t exactly know what you liked.. so i just got a lot. it’s fine if we can’t eat everything. but make sure you eat enough. you’re hungry.” he stated again, leaning over and grabbing a few fries.

when he got her the straw, she kept on staring at her drink in shock. that was a dumb move of her and she wasn’t sure how she was supposed to overcome that. deciding to just ignore it, adriana ran a hand through her hair before she wrapped her lips around the straw to take a sip. staring at the table, she was a bit speechless because of his generosity.  “ alright.” she nodded, leaning over to grab the burger. “ remember how i told you i eat burgers the classy way? watch and learn.” she smirked widely before she took a careful bite, making sure nothing fell on her clothes. chewing on it, she rested her head against the side of the couch while looking at the boy. there was no denying that she appreciated the effort he put into all of this after her revelation. “ dad’s not home.” she informed him, after she was done with the bite. somehow she felt like she owed him an explanation, however -- she had told him everything, what was left to say? “ oh, and whatever i said last time... that was me talking. not mikaela. except for the boyfriends part. that was just a random guess.” she confessed.

“good.” seth simply replied to her response, following her into the living room. his eyes were looking around as if he hadn’t been there before, just because everything seemed so different now he knew who was actually living here. “oh.. i got us some drinks already,” he smiled at her weakly. “two sweet, iced teas. hope you like that.” the red head spoke, sitting down at the sofa she pointed on. beginning to get the food out of the bag and putting it on the coffee table, he shook his had at her comment. “you’re assumption is right.” with a laugh, he took a sip of his drink through the straw and patted on the spot next to him. “come on. you were hungry.”

“ oh. right.” she nodded at the fact that the only reason she had found to keep their distance was now useless. “ well, alright then...” she mumbled, not sure what to do with the awkwardness in the room as she carefully sat down next to him. it was her mission to avoid any kind of weird contact -- she had to figure out first what was happening to her. why the hell was she feeling this way?  “ yeah, ice tea is fine.” she nodded, leaning over to grab her drink. “ thanks, by the way.” she repeated herself again, however she didn’t really remember that she had already stated that before. “ that’s a lot of food.” she pointed out, crossing her legs to sit more comfortable. she loved being herself, but for some reason she was rather scared to show off how she really was. was it the fear of him changing his opinion of her?

as seth was waiting in front of the door, hoping it would be opened, he grew more nervous by the second. it was something he had never felt before with mikaela, but this was the first time he was going to see the real adriana. it just felt really relieving that he finally knew why she was behaving so weirdly the past couple of weeks. his eyes looked up from the ground as he heard a sound from the other side of the door, which eventually opened. a huge, silly smile appeared on his face as he saw her. her. the most beautiful girl in the hills– most probably in america. scratch that, the whole world. he stepped inside and instantly wrapped his arms around the smaller girl, pulling her into a hug and resting his chin on the top of her head as he held her in his embrace for a moment. his eyes were closed as he enjoyed this, but eventually pulled back hoping he wasn’t making her uncomfortable. “you’re welcome.” he answered after clearing his throat, acting like nothing just happened. holding up the bag in his hands, he let out a soft laugh. “hope you like cheeseburgers.”

adriana was caught off guard when he hugged her, smiling weakly. even though she wasn’t expecting it, she actually appreciated his hug, frowning rather at herself. carefully reciprocating his embrace, she waited for him to pull away, inhaling his scent which she admittedly found to smell very good. when he pulled back, adriana gave him a quick nod, closing the door. “ i love cheeseburgers.” she chuckled, leading him to her living room. “ what would you like to drink?” she asked, pointing at her sofa so he could sit down. “ i’m assuming we don’t need plates.” she informed him, trying to act as if there was nothing to be tensed about.

after a whole night of arguing over text with the person who was completely someone else than he thought in the first place, it eventually all turned well. seth understood the girl who had lied about her name after her explanation on why she did it– and realized that she was the one he was with this entire time. not mikaela. so the feelings he developed.. were for adriana. it was still storming badly outside but that didn’t keep him from asking her if she wanted some in n out, which was the reason why he texted her in the first place. without hesitation, seth made his way to adriana’s place in his luxurious car, arriving pretty quickly. holding the bag of food in his hands, he hurried to the door and knocked on it hard enough for her to hear.

putting her phone next to her, adriana let out a deep sigh. it took her awhile to process that for once, she wouldn’t have to pretend to be mikaela. it was finally time to be the unfiltered girl she was. she was still in a state of annoyance, even though it seemed that seth finally got why she did whatever she did. stroking the satin shorts she was wearing, the raven-haired girl couldn’t stop wondering why she felt so bad to have an argument with seth. what even did he mean to her? nothing, she thought to herself. however, she was aware that that was just a lie. hearing a knock on the door, she got up quickly. opening it, she looked at the boy, a small smile forming on her lips. “ hey.” she murmured softly, stepping to the side so he could enter. “ thanks for coming.” she added. why was she being nice, again?
