Some of my real-life and online friends have been asking me about our itinerary for Bali, Indonesia so I decided to post this one here for you guys to see it as well + I haven’t blogged for a long time.
Basically, my budget was 25,000 PHP or 500 USD including the plane ticket, accommodation and pocket money. I don’t know if that’s too much or too small but I feel like it’s completely the standard amount when you travel around Asia.
Last January, we booked a flight to Bali and it had cost me 10,700 php for a two-way ticket. There is no seat sale at that time so that is pretty much the basic ticket fee.
I kind of had a hard time looking for a nice hotel because it was either too expensive or the space was too small for 3 persons. I also considered staying at a hostel but most of it were fully booked as you know, we went there during holiday. Finally, I found this hotel called Horison Seminyak. I don’t recommend booking at this hotel because my friends and I had a REALLY bad experience. (You’ll know on my next blog) But just to complete this itinerary, my friend, Myross, paid for the room and it had cost her IDR (rupiah) 804,600 and an additional IDR 200,000 [ 4,514.00 PHP / 85.90 USD ] for the transfer from Airport to Hotel but there had been a problem so we paid for another IDR 800,000 / 2,972.00 PHP / 57 USD. I almost forgot, we took a cab from airport to hotel because we weren’t picked up and it had cost us IDR 300,000 / 1,120 PHP / 22 USD. It was a total mess and we were too exhausted and sleepy too deal with the problem.
Day 1. My sister’s Indonesian friend advised me to download an app called GoJek, everything there is cheap. It’s a local app and most tourist doesn’t know about it and we were so happy that my sissy’s friend mentioned it because we already paid so much to the hotel. Booking a car on GoJeck was so easy and it had normally cost us around IDR 15,000 to IDR 20,000 [ 55 to 75 PHP / 1 USD ] each time we book.
We tried this famous tourist-y cafe called KYND Community. They are known for their Acai bowls and other healthy food. We ordered 3 acai bowls [ IDR 69,000 (+10% tax + 5% service fee) = IDR 80,000 / 300 PHP / 6 USD ]. After taking tons of IG-pictures we decided to go for a walk and we found this shop called Bali Boat Shed. I’m telling you, all of the clothes they are selling are too expensive. As you know my budget was only 15,000 PHP / 300 USD for the rest of the trip. Luckily though, when we went there, everything was on sale so I ended up buying a top and it had cost me IDR 400,000 / 1,500 PHP / 30 USD. Not bad, I guess? I loved the top that I got and it is linen.
We had dinner at a local eatery near our hotel but I’m not quite sure about the prices of the food because my sissy’s friend’s dad paid for everything.
Day 2. We had a day trip to Nusa Lembongan, I was looking forward to cliff dive but our tour guide told us that it was on the other island. I got really upset but you know, the adventure must go on. We book at https://www.instagram.com/kinaranusatour/ and our total trip had cost us IDR 700,000 / 2,650 PHP/ 51 USD including hotel pick-up from and to Seminyak to Sanur Beach, Ferry from Denpasar to Nusa Lembongan, snorkelling, Mangrove Tour, lunch, trip to Blue Lagoon, and trip to Devil’s Tear. During the night, Izumi and I decided to go Krisna to buy souvenirs and we found the famous Rattan Bag which was only IDR 250,000 / 930 PHP / 17 USD. I bought a few famous Indonesian delicacies such as the Pie Suso which was only IDR 19,000 / 70 PHP / 1.33 USD and I bought three because it was cheap.
Day 3. Ubud is two hours away from Seminyak so we decided to rent a car with a driver for the entire day and our good friend was the one who booked for us and it was only about IDR 600,000 / 2,280 PHP/ 44 USD for 12 hours. Our priority on that day was to try the famous Bali Swing. We went to a few bali swing places in Tegalalang but most of it are too expensive, like around 2,600 PHP / 50 USD. So we kept looking around ( don’t worry there are a lot of bali swing in Tegalalang ) and we found Uma Pakel Swing, it had cost us IDR 250,000 / 930 PHP / 18 USD and coffee luwak tasting was included. We had lunch at Bebek Joni, it is known for their Crispy Fried Duck which was about IDR 95,000 / 353.00 PHP / 7 USD. After lunch, we went straight to Ubud Market. If you don’t know how to bargain, I’m telling you, Ubud Market is not the best place for you because everything is EXPENSIVE so you literally have to bargain. I bought a rattan bag for my sister and the original price was IDR 475,000 / 1,764 PHP / 34 USD and I got it for only IDR 250,000 / 930 PHP / 18 USD. I had no idea that I’m good at bargaining (HAHA). I got a few more stuff such as tassel earrings, a pair of pajama and bamboo straws and the total amount I paid was IDR 200,000 / 743 PHP / 14 USD.
After buying souvenirs, we went straight to the airport. I know we’ve only been to a few places because it was only a short trip but we surely had a great time. I mean, just the idea of traveling with my best friends was already fun for me.
Total amount: IDR 3,092,000 / 11,500 PHP / 220 USD.
PS. If you’re wondering where the remaining 3,500 PHP is, I used it to buy food and water in the airport. I did not include it anymore because I couldn’t remember the exact prices. Also, I rounded up all the amount.
