When I was in Bali last month I had the absolute pleasure of visiting Cahyati Press in Seminyak. I'd been dying to check out their space in person. They were awarded an It's Nice That foundation grant in 2022 to establish the first community risogrpah printer in Bali, and they've put out some awesome books like Aca & Ica the Collected Comics by Ola Zuhra and Queers Shoot Back! Essays on Radical Queer Cinema by Rizky Rahad!

I made this little video honestly because at the time I was like fuck I need more reels for instagram. So I made like 2 and they got like 20 views and now I'm like holy shit I don't care about any of this at all. But, nah, honestly I'm really proud of this little promo video and would love to shoot more for international risograph printers and small presses. I can't recommend a visit to Cahyati Press enough, and I'm looking forward to swinging by many times in the years to come.

Just reading The Jakarta Method and thinking about luxury travel aesthetic (slash, softcore porn) blogs, that tag every tropical resort picture with #indonesia #bali regardless of the actual location, for whatever reason. It makes me think about how little many westerners really know about the 4th most populous nation on the planet.
