as the corner of the book bumped her hand , those blood-red lips quirked into a smile , for the small act made snow white wondered if this was what it felt like to have a mother – a privilege that was robbed from her TOO SOON and replaced with something ALL TOO TERRIBLE . the dwarves hadn’t been too keen on the idea of snow seeing a witch at first , given their experience with one , and the princess was glad that she didn’t listen to them .
the young woman nearly leaped out of joy upon the witch’s agreement – and the house of the witch mercy would be otherwise entrapped in a STATE OF STILLNESS , as if the concept of time itself didn’t exist in her little realm , had it not been for snow white , who moved around the house with such smile on her face and such happiness that made her movements felt much BIGGER than they really were . ‘ oh truly ? well let’s see –– ’ the yellow skirt of her dress billowed around her as she spun in a circle to face the window , brown eyes straining to see the distance .
HAPPINESS bubbled from inside her until her tiny body couldn’t contain it anymore – one could practically TASTE it off her . ‘ well listen up , ’ hands clapping together in front of her friend as she jumped back round to face the witch , ‘ well the weather outside is really nice , so plenty of animals would be out and about ’ not to mention it’s SNOW’S OWN MAGIC to make animals appear , it would seem . ‘ i’m thinking we could go by the stream and have a little picnic there under the tree . i could wrap up my pie again and we’ll bring tea , you could read your book and we could pick some herbs and gather ingredients for your potion on our way back ! ’
There was simply no winning against Snow white. For after all, winning would mean a risk of erasing that smile off her lips, and how could the witch ever do that to dearest Snow White? The smell of freshly baked pie, already long forgotten by the witch until mentioned, comes to fill her senses and with a pleased hum, Mercy already knew what her answer would be - a resounding YES, if only she wasn't such a tease - alas, seeing Snow White so excited seem to have reawakened her playfulness.
“ Oh, I don’t know, Snow White dearest. I could always just move my seat by the window and enjoy the wonderful weather like so - ” Lips curling all the more, she brings her cup of tea up to her lips, hoping it would hide the RISING smile, “ what’s so different between reading by the window and under the tree? I would still be enjoying the sun, the smell of the forest, and, of course, my book. ” Was her young visitor pouting now, she wondered; with a frown pursed upon her lips, perhaps, with a puffed cheek. Teasing Snow White always did result to the most LOVABLE of responses.
