Tomorrow, I’m going to leave for a camping trip to France with my boyfriend and my parents. So you’re not likely to hear from me for the next three weeks, but I’ll make sure to get around to answering all and any asks when I get back :)
Reblogging from my main just so you know.
Hi , I love your costumes , do you have a facebook or instagram where we can see other photos of you ?
Hey, thanks for the compliment :)
I have to disappoint you, though, because I’m one of the few people without a facebook account, and I don’t have instagram either. Tumblr is pretty much the only place where I post steampunk pictures of myself.
Sorry, not a steampunk related question, but I was wondering, where did you get your theme?
No need to apologize :)
This theme is called “Paper Walls 1.2“ and I think I just found it in the official free themes section on tumblr, but that was two or so years ago, so... sorry I can’t direct you to anything. Also, part of this theme (the ask and submit button, latter of which sadly is broken) was customized for me by a friend.
Hey, I saw you say that you got your corset from draculaclothing and I wondered what your experience with them was? They have such amazing stuff, but I´m a little wary because some of the prices seem just too good to be true, especially the corsets. So if you had some insight to share, it´d be greatly appreciated! ^^
I too was wary and thought the price for my corset from them was too good to be true, but I loved how it looked and mainly wanted it for one occasion, so I bought it anyway. I was actually really surprised by the quality. It’s fully steel-boned, the seems are thoroughly sewn and everything, plus it fits in a nice, mild hourglass shape, meaning it’s neither too cylindrical nor too hourglassy for someone without corset training.Keep in mind that is is only my personal experience with one corset, though, and I can’t make any general statements about their corsets (or other clothing). Here’s two more things you might find helpful though: A short exchange I had with rufflesandsteam in which she says she was happy with the quality of draculaclothing’s corsets, but not so much with their other clothing items and a picture of my draculaclothing corset because I tend to think it’s helpful seeing people’s personal pictures of items as opposed to the very polished pictures posted by the shops.Hope this was helpful!
My favourite picture from WGT (Wave Gotik Treffen), taken by my roomie :)
Reblog if this is true for your blog
I waited to reblog til i saw asexual. Thank youuu
Not inherently steampunk, but nevertheless true.
This stands to be posted again.
Welcome, my dear ones!
I noticed an influx of new followers these past few days, so I just wanted to take the time and say hi. This blog is meant to be a safe space and I want all of you to feel comfortable around here.
I generally don’t post stuff that lots of people get triggered by, but if you do have any specific triggers that you think I might not take into account by default, please let me know and I’ll make sure to tag things accordingly.
No matter your age, gender, sexual orientation, race, size, religion, and so on… please feel welcome. I’ll be more than happy to interact with you and receive your casual steampunk submissions :)
There’s a bunch of new followers again, so hi everyone :)

1: If someone wanted to really understand you, what would they read, watch, and listen to?
Wow, that might be the hardest question from that list, but also the most interesting one. I’ll try my best.
Read
everything by Douglas Adams
Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk (and really, read it, don’t just watch the movie!)

any amount and combination of Poe, Shelley, Tolkien, Lovecraft

For the anon who sent me the numbered ask :)
1, 12, 20, 22 for the ask thing? :) sweet blog btw, it always brightens my day!
Whaaat this must have been sitting in my ask box for days but I only saw it just now. Sorry for being so late! And I’m so happy to hear I’m brightening up people’s dashboards :)Anyway, here’s the answers:1: if someone wanted to really understand you, what would they read, watch, and listen to?
I already answered this on my main blog a few days ago and since it’s a lengthy one, I just reblogged it.12: dog person or cat person?
Both, actually. I used to be completely mad about dogs as a child and my family had dogs ever since I was eight years old, so the dog person thing definitely came first. But over the past few years I developed more and more love for the cats of my friends, and cats in general. I’m allergic to most cats, so chances I’ll adopt one aren’t very good, but my boyfriend and I regularly take evening walks to pet the cats in our neighbourhood.20: would you rather be in Middle Earth, Narnia, Hogwarts, or somewhere else?
Unf… certainly not in Westeros nor in the Lovecraft universe, though I love both ASoIaF and the Lovecraft mythos. Middle Earth is exciting but doesn’t seem like a world in which you can live very happily (though it depends on where and what time, of course). And I’m neither a huge HP nor Narnia fan. Actually, come to think of it, the discworld would be pretty rad!22: list the top five things you spend the most time doing, in order.
SLEEP. I’m very devoted to that.
uni stuff (I’m doing a double major teaching degree in philosophy and computer science, so there’s classes, homework, programming projects, papers, internships…)
my part-time job as a cook’s mate
spending quality time with my boyfriend (this includes but is not limited to: cooking and eating nice meals, playing board & card games, watching our favourite series, listening to the Welcome To Nightvale podcast and Lovecraft audiobooks, going for walks, giving each other massages, talking about just anything, lounging around on the sofa like no one’s business, …)
hobby stuff/spiritual shenanigans (lately there was a lot of crocheting, drawing, journalling, reading Tarot, meditating, and pen & paper RPGs - my current favourite being Call of Cthulhu)

I think I haven’t posted this one yet: Casual steampunk for shopping :)
May I ask where you got that dress? It looks like the perfect base for so many amazing outfits.
Sure: it’s from KiK (that super cheap textile company) but it was black and white stripes when I bought it and I dyed it with brown textile colour.Â
(That’s actually one of my favourite ways to get steampunk-y stuff)
Cool! There’s no KiK in my town unfortunately, but maybe this is of help to some of my German followers ;) Also, I’ve done the same thing with a pair of black/white striped trousers. Now they’re black/rust. Tea-staining white clothes looks pretty too.
Oh hey, I reblogged stuff to the wrong blog again. I’m a tumblr genius.
I have grey eyes. =D
Also worked a special event at work and got to wear a steampunk outfit. Boyfriend loved it.
Is it just me or does anyone else get a little jealous at the thought of having a workplace that wants you wearing a steampunk outfit?
