For this AU I took a look into what moonscorching actually is. Moonscorching a simple explanation is that it transforms a contestant into a representation of their worst qualities and fears. Combining this idea with the concept of overblotting where a person is transformed based on the build-up of magic blot and negative emotions over a significant amount of time I present the twisted wonderland fear and hunger AU
Following the contestant rules there are only 14 students that are involved in the festival of termina. the 7 overblotters from twst main story and Yuu are the playable cast while the remaining 6 are the non-playable contestants. Yuu functions as a perspective character in this scenario and their actions would be that of the player of fear and hunger. All other contestants go through their own actions throughout the 3-day cycle Yuu can recruit teammates and try and make their way out of Prehevil.
For the overblotting cast their moonschorched forms are based on the design elements and the backstory that we learn from their overblotted forms. Designing each element with the themes of fear and hunger and the knowledge of the twst cast I plan to envision a design for our 7 cast members. ( note all cast members will be human in this au and non human characters ex. leona will lack non human features and abilities)
if you haven't played the game Fear and Hunger is a survival horror game and my moonscorched designs are made with the horror aspects in mind

No, heartslabyul isn't mad enough for me. I want heartslabyul dorm members walk into class having an owl that's mixed with a clock and wooden stools on their shoulder. I want heartslabyul dorm members to spread misinformation and then call others stupid and ignorant when correcting them. I want heartslabyul students to randomly sprint out of class because their pocket watch made of butter and bread crumbs tells them its tea time. I want heartslabyul students to be more bonkers than they are.
Last time we had Azul in Savanaclaw, so this time I BRING YOU IDIA IN SCARABIA!!!!
Oh boy, what to say. I mean I think we all know Idia would SUFFEERRRRR in Scarabia. The heat? Would kill him. The extroverted students? Would kill him. All the attempts on Kalim's life which would now accidentally happen to him? Well they won't kill him with Jamil at his side at least.
But everything in this dorm is built against him, so he just has to do with what he has. So of course he builds a high security system for himself. That way he can stay closed up in his room without Jamil having to keep an eye on him all the time.
Still, all of this was way too much socializing for him. But once he goes back to his own dorm, Ortho congratulates him on getting out of his comfort zone! :D
Jamil was kinda fed up with Idia at first, but honestly the introvert grew on him.
(Yeah Idia has a pear phone)
Part 1 : Leona in Diasomnia
Part 2: Kalim in Octavinelle!
Today marks the halfway point!!! We've only got 3 more housewardens to go!! >:D
Also yipee keychains are back in stock!! :D (I need to make the rest of the characters aghhhh)
Happy spring! The GTA is blessed with a few public cherry blossom orchards, which are now in full bloom. They are absolutely gorgeous, and I recommend Torontonians stop by at High Park (and Mississaugans visit Kariya Park) to appreciate them :)
Onto the important matters. Accessibility for convention day!
Our Intake Form Killed Itself :(
Simpli Events, the service we use for ticket management, geared up in anticipation for ticket launch—but clearly they didn’t gear up enough! Somehow, the intake form got corrupted and we don’t have the data from our standard order form. That means the question “would you like to register for accessibility accomodations” was—ironically enough—inaccessible.
We will be sending out a three-question Google Form by email to all registered attendee emails. Please keep an eye out for this email!! It should be sent within the next few days. Our accessibility coordinator will then follow up with you about getting accomodations sorted out.
What do accomodations look like?
This year, someone registered for accessibility accomodations will receive an accessibility sticker which goes on their badge. This signals to our volunteer team that the attendee should be given early/priority access to washrooms or event spaces to facilitate mobility. Other accessibility accomodations are available and can be discussed further with our Accessibility Coordinator via her email ([email protected]).
The Chill Room
Conventions can be very overstimulating! Sometimes we just need a break. This is why DashCon 2 operates the Chill Room: a low-sensory space where congoers are invited to relax and get some peace and quiet. Cosplayers are welcome to relax in there as well and patch up their cosplays if they need a moment to reapply makeup or re-tie a bow.
That said, the Chill Room Rules will be strictly enforced. The Chill Room is NOT a designated costuming lounge area but a low sensory space. Please note that:
Talking above a whisper is strictly prohibited.
If you need to have an extended conversation, take it outside the Chill Room. Whispering should be used for short, perfunctory discussions.
Electric fans generate a lot of noise and are also prohibited.
DashCon 2 will provide manual hand fans for use by attendees, as they are quieter.
Overhead lights will not be turned on until 9:00 PM.
There are many windows in the Chill Room so there will be light to see by in the daytime
Once the sun goes down (8:40 PM) only one set of lights will be turned on, to ensure people have light to enter/exit by.
Phone flashlights are prohibited as they are intense and disruptive.
If you need help finding something, ask a volunteer for help.
Phone screens should be dimmed when it gets dark.
Taking a nap is okay, but volunteers reserve the right to wake you if they have a concern.
Eating is acceptable, but do your best to keep noise to a minimum.
We are still expanding the list of amenities the Chill Room will have on hand. Here is the current list:
Water bottles
Manual fans
Sleep masks (to block light)
Disposable earplugs
Disposable face masks
A finalized list will be posted on our website closer to the convention date. If you have a suggestion of something that would benefit you if we had it in the Chill Room, feel free to send us a message at [email protected].
Man I went to a small run convention yesterday and my developing chronic illness forced me to have to leave super early and GOD this all sounds really lovely
Especially a quiet low sensory space to be able to sit and cool off . One of the biggest issues I run into at large events is that when I push my body too hard I get EXTREMELY HOT. Usually I carry a small non electric fan but it was decently cold yesterday and still got flushed.
Seeing that there’s an effort being put in to make somthing like conventions even more accessible and inviting is making me a million times more excited to attend.
I’ve been attending large cons for a while and smaller conventions when I can find them and never had there’s been a space like this that I have seen that isn’t behind some VIP access. Or even exists at all . I know stuff like this has GOT to be super expensive and difficult to manage .
TLDR I’m absolutely thrilled about this and hope other people are too. Accommodations and accessibility being taken into consideration is so awesome and brings people together. I’m so so so excited for August and absolutely cannot wait .
(Side note: the con I went to yesterday was definitely working with what’s they got and overall was super fun I’m not shitting on that con I do plan to be going again it had a lot of places to sit and that’s super rare in my experience)
If you are confused or were like me and became easily frustrated by reading the beginning of the books but once you got to the end things made a little more sense .
RE READ THE BOOKS trust me it helps so much .
If you are like me however and you NEED that next book NOW . I highly recommend watching book specific recap video essays on YouTube ! A lot of them do such a great job at explaining the books in an easy to process manner . DO IT AFTER YOU READ THE BOOKS trust.
Even if you have read all the books there’s some recommendations for you too.
Spoiler FREE Recommendations for each book down below !!
I recommend these for if you have just read Gideon the ninth
This one technically can be watched beforehand and I would recommended it before if your curious and after to get a better understanding of the house system.
This recap did me wonders it goes over the entire first book with no spoilers to the other books and I found it to be really entertaining.
If you have read Gideon and harrow the ninth
I HIGHLY recommend listening to the locked tomb podcast on YouTube and Spotify.
I listened to them before reading harrow and they did warn me of spoilers and I did get out of context spoiled . Whoops .
They do a chapter by chapter in depth deep breakdown of the events and character building moments of each book .
I recommend listening to the Gideon chapters as well because this podcast goes into how the Gideon chapters relate to harrow and the story building
The harrow and Gideon chapters were posted before Nona was released so up until they warn it is a Nona spoiler free zone .
This podcast REALLY helped me understand and get really deep into the story without having to reread the books 70 times on my own
Also for any fellow audiobook fans they did a super fun interview with Moira Quirk and it goes into the audiobook process and how Moira developed the voices .
ALSO it goes into the interlude chapters and a short story I haven’t found many that really get into the interlude chapters because I know especially on my first read I was extremely confused and flat out ignored them not realizing the untapped potential and power they hold
HIGHLY RECOMMEND LISTENING BEFORE READING NONA IT WILL HELP SO SO SO MUCH
If you don’t have like 20 hours to binge a podcast during work like I do
Check out this video

It does an amazing job at helping understand and maintain a sense of what is going on in the timeline of events and story building.
After reading Nona the ninth !
THE IMPLICATIONSalso happy 1000th day of the alectopause (do you think it's cosmically coincidental that that happens to fall on 06/09?)CHAP
Once again the events of the books are explained really well and did a great job at helping me understand better some of the more difficult aspects
Once again recommend the locked tomb podcast Nona episodes it does an incredible job going over each chapter. And the interlude chapter
Are you now in alectopause with the rest of us ?
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND rereading the books for yourself.
Post Nona I started rereading GTN and it was insanely good. The frustration that I developed when first reading it was gone and I picked up on so many little details.
I also highly recommend
Reading tumblr posts under the book tags ! Truly a ton of posts have made me understand and interpret things in ways I couldn’t even begin to imagine.
This truly is a FOUNT of knowledge
However I recommend finishing the books before doing so to avoid accidental spoilers . It’s really easy to come across a post that spoils a huge scene but is technically tagged properly .
I love reading about peoples experiences reading the books and engaging with the fandom has given me such a joy .
Read some fanfiction
If you loved Htn and some of the bits that made that book really interesting
There are a ton of awesome fanfics out there that explore fun what if senarios and much more
A lot of fanfics I have read have included some really interesting Māori inspirations and one even included research links and materials about it .
Watch animatics
There are some amazing ones out there that have truly changed the way I think about a certain scene or character.
Last but certainly not least
In alectopause we’re all in this together. Engage with the community and share your thoughts.
Recommend the series to an irl friend snd infodump about cool lore together .
Make fanart or fancomics
Engage with fanzines
There is an INCREDIBLE Locked tomb fanzine that directly links to palistine relief and donations to Gaza
( if I can find it I will link it here )
Make some theory’s about what Alecto the ninth might be like
If you like cosplay I have seen some incredible cosplays for locked tomb and it’s inspired me to make one as well
There are definitely a LOT more videos about this series and if the ones I recommended here aren’t for you there are more where that came from .
I chose the videos that helped me the most personally but these videos might not be what’s right for you .
If you like podcasts there’s at least two other Spotify based podcasts about the series so if your not vibing with the one I recommended then there’s more where that came from
