My Husband's Brother (is Hot as Hell) || Catalina + Theo (closed)
As Theo began to recite all of the elements he knew on the periodic table of elements (which was honestly like 7 altogether), he followed Cat into the kitchen and moved to the fridge, bending to grab a beer from the lowest possible shelf in the very far back. He may or may not have mostly been letting his face cool off.
Thank god Henry kept a lot of liquor. As he stood, cracking open a beer, he sent a small, half smile her direction. “This old thing?” he asked, motioning down to his shirt before mentally punching himself. “Henry was always the better dresser of the two of us. He’d probably make fun of this tie,” he brought a hand up to the neck of it, loosening it slightly. His siblings would have slaughtered him if they all saw hims standing here in a tie. Maybe it was a good thing Henry wasn’t here… But when Catalina asked how his day had been, he figured that statement was probably false. “Not much,” he shrugged, leaning up against the island beside her, taking a drink. “Finished up some stuff at the shop. Got the last of my shit moved in. Aria almost had my head — I totally forgot to tell her I was back for good,” he laughed before shaking his head. “Cable guy set up all my shit. I’m officially and Oxfordian once again,” he threw out the last bit maybe a bit too sarcastically before looking up to her with a grin. “What about you?”
Cat smiled warmly over at him. Henry probably would make fun of the tie. But then, Henry would also be in a full on suit with pure silver or gold cuff links. Henry was extravagant, just like Catalina was. It was one of the reasons they got along so well. Did she have to be wearing a designer dress, heels, and diamond earrings for a dinner with her husbands brother? No. But she liked feeling expensive. However, every time she looked at Theo, she appreciated the simplicity of him.
Though, with genes like the Bertinelli family had, there was little they really needed to do to look amazing.
"Well, you know how Henry and I are, life is a runway," she joked, her mind momentarily drifting to Theo and Henry's younger sister and the week they'd all spent in London to watch her in the fashion show. She'd been rather surprised Theo wasn't there, but then besides phone calls, it had always been difficult to get Theo places for one reason or another.
Catalina couldn't help the light laugh, "Well, you had to know that was a mistake. Withholding anything from your family is the equivalent of a death sentence." Cat raised her glass and took a long sip of her wine before gazing down into the glass for a moment. She wondered momentarily if any of them had guessed what the real motivation behind hers and Henry's marriage had been.
She was pulled from her thoughts when he asked her a question and she gave a shrug of her thin shoulders. Cat raised a hand and tucked her silky, chocolate hair behind her ear as a grin to match his own came across her face. It was so hard not to match that grin, she could stare at him all day - preferably without a shirt. "Oh, just... Lots of cooking," she said, then added playfully, "Being a chef is tough work." A warm, melodic laugh escaped her before she continued, "Your sisters stopped by my restaurant and saw me, so that got the day off to a good start. And then came back here." She placed a hand on his arm and smiled that ridiculously perfect and seductive smile before adding, "I had to make a good meal for my two favorite men."
