So, this has actually been in the works for about two months-ish? Sort of? I was working on it on-and-off.
I finished the rough animation for Fan in the "true love, for true love, for-" section back in mid-December in about.. an hour or two, I think. I then kind of just left it there, and didn't make much progress. Initially, in the "true love, for true love, for-" segment, it was going to be all Fan, then all Test Tube. Example shown below
I then changed my mind about that, and decided to alternate them (as seen in the final animation). The reason I did this was mostly because it was too much work for me to do and I ran out of cute pose ideas for both of them
in early January (i think????), I made Test Tube's rough animation. Throughout January, I started cleaning up the lines and putting in the colors. A lot of work was done around late January.
Going into Febuary, I animated all the other segments and finished coloring everything. (Fun Fact: Animating Test Tube's liquid took at least 3 hours, probably more! Fun, but I'm probably never doing that ever again.)
The colors were all done on one layer, and it took.. a while. It was fun, though! I liked doing it.
I drew the background after all the animation was finalized and colored, then animated the subtitles. Everything here was done straight in Tahoma2D, except that I needed to cut 1 second at the beginning (no animation, no audio, so I kept it out.) and I needed to crop the video, which I did in CapCut.
I think there are about 16 layers for everything. I'm not sure though.
Fun Fact #2: Tahoma2D's method of saving makes it look like the program's about to crash (everything freezes, if you click anything the screen goes kinda white and your cursor turns into a loading icon, the window says Tahoma2D (Not Responding)..), and I don't know if that's a thing with my laptop or the program, but it kind of just saves like that. It scares me every time, and I have auto-save on every 7 minutes
Here's a scrapped version of the background! The main reason it was scrapped is that the limb movements were hard to see. I needed more contrast with those and the background. (I know I could have made an outline around the characters, but that's a lot of work! And also I tried and it looked kind of bad.)
This is actually my first ever finished animation. Yippee!
I'm really glad I finished something, and I like this a lot. I liked making it a lot too. Previously, I had only animated really small things, and I didn't do much of those either. This helped me learn a lot.
Maybe next time I'll make something a little less time-consuming, though.. This was quite a project, despite only being around 14 seconds.

for all you absolute WEIRDOS asking how red40 would react to her dad in the hospital/silly…. test tube wouldn’t ever show her i fear but there’s angst potential
