This is the Beta (side)blog for Cat Atomic [By @therealmaquaroonie]. Cat Atomic is a webcomic based in a Post-Apocalyptic Northern America, where animals have become sentient and some have gained superpowers! The story follows Jase, a cat looking to find his parents in this wasteland after he was separated from them as a kitten. Cat Atomic deals with heavy topics, including but not limited to;

Death

Blood and gore

Body horror

Trauma

Due to this, Cat Atomic is strongly rated only for veiwers 13 and up.

Any updates regarding Cat Atomic, as well as sneak peek art and reference images, will be posted on this (side)blog!

Cat Atomic Caturday: December 23rd 2023: Off for the Holidays!

Sorry for the lack of art on this post! We've been busy around this time of year with IRL things! Due to this, we are putting off some parts of Cat Atomic so we don't overwork ourself over the holidays, especially since we work retail IRL! Happy Holidays for those who celebrate!

Cat Atomic Caturday: December 16th, 2023: Introducing Mobo!

Mobo is a moledog- part of a pack of dogs that gained mole-like features and the ability to tunnel underground! Mobo runs a small group of dogs that, allegedly, are very very close to their Queen, and will swiftly deal with ANYONE who sticks on their turf for too long. (It is not confirmed that Mobo has anything to do with the nearby Moledog Hive-Pack ruled under Queen Qwheen.)

Cat Atomic Caturday: December 8th, 2023: Introducing Butler and Leo!

Butler is the Advisor (second in command) of Bright City. He can be seen making sure the city's residents are kept safe... er... mostly to catch anyone breaking the rules. As oppose to King, his role in the city is his pride and joy, and he is much more strict when it comes to the law. Butler has no kitnetics, but his strength is much greater than that of a normal cat.

Leo is Butler's trainee, and Leo hopes to become a powerful cat in the city guard... Though he mostly bullies other cats below his rank, especially in sparring matches. Leo looks up to Butler greatly. Due to this, Leo is willing to do everything and anything to impress his mentor.

Cat Atomic Caturday: December 1st, 2023: Introducing King and his daughter, Sweetheart!!!

King is the humble Head-Cat (leader) of Bright City! He is almost always seen moving throughout the city, talking to his people and staying up to date on all pressing issues!

Sweetheart is King's daughter! Sweetheart unfortunately caught an awful disease, which eventually resulted in her losing both her eyes, but before she had them removed, she and Uncle Fredrick came up with an implant, allowing her to see once again! She also had lost her leg, and half her tail, when she saved another creature from an oncoming rail-snake (train)!

Cat Atomic Caturday November 25th 2023: Introducing Uncle Fredrick, Socks, and Mittens!

Uncle Fredrick may have been born without the ability to move his hind legs, but that doesn't stop him from being the best mechanic in all of Bright City! From machines to tools to buildings- he can repair it all! Not to mention he's helped develop prosthetics and wheelchairs for other cats in need!

Socks and Mittens are Uncle Fredricks sons and apprentices! They help run errands for Fredrick when he's busy in his shop. These two little rascals love to play pranks on the rest of Bright City's inhabitants, and will often swap out collars to confuse anyone who doesn't know them too well!

Oh! Also!

I am proud to announce that I am developing a WEBSITE for all things related to Cat Atomic on neocities! It sure isn't easy to make- especially since we are a one-man-band- but due to the way I want to tell Cat Atomic's story, it is going to be worth the effort!

Caturday November 18th: Introducing Phoenix!

Phoenix is the mother of Tiger, Rosegold and Badger! She is also the lead general of Bright City's defense team! Don't let her rough exterior fool you- she's an extremely sweet cat once you get to know her! Phoenix is one of the few kitnetics that have no dual eye coloration. Her kitnetic power is the ability to control fire!

PSA: If Cat Atomic ever gets a movie adaptation, Chris Pratt will not be allowed to audition for any main character roles.

Additionally, Disney or any related brands will not be allowed to participate in the making of the movie.

Introducing Badger and Rosegold!

Badger and Rosegold are Tiger's siblings! Badger has powers that allow them to see glimses into the future, and Rosegold works hard to help keep cats nice and healthy.

Introducing Jase and Tiger!!!

Jase is our lead character! Separated from his mother as a kit, he is venturing out far into the wasteland in search of his parents. Along the way he meets Tiger, a cat more than willing to lead him to his own settlement, Bright City, to enlist the help of their leader to search for Jase's parents.

Jase is nervous and takes every step with caution, scared of what is around every corner, while Tiger is the one to run headfirst into the unknown, eager to explore and see the rest of the wasteland.
