Chat is considered an official unofficial member of the Ladybug Family. Mama Bug brings him treats and listens to his problems. Red Velvet puns with him and teaches him things. And Ladybug herself is a constant support, growing and gaining strength as he does.
He’s jealous of how warm and happy they are, but not entirely because they practically drag him into that warmth as well and he can’t help but love them for it.
They don’t let him sacrifice himself. He tries it once for Mama Bug and gets a stern lecture to never do that again. When he attempts to justify it in that they’re more important (which technically they are since only they can purify the akumas), he is smothered with hugs. And again lectured to not do that again.
There would be less chance of a demand to hold to secret identities over time because they can all cover for each other. Marinette makes them masks for them all to wear before transforming so they won’t be immediately recognized if they’re caught detransforming. Tikki’s questioning about the set up, but she can’t deny that it works and seems all around healthier for Marinette to have her parents’ support—and for Chat Noir to have their support by default as well. Plagg is completely on board. It’s something they haven’t had before, the set up seems healthy in this case, and quite frankly he’s fully willing to accept anything that will get his kid more help because one little cat god is not nearly enough to fill the void!
Eventually, they realize that it may be beneficial for them and Chat to know who each other is. That way they can cover for him as well and he can go to them if there’s any issue. The reveal is…not what anybody expected. Cue flustered Adrien and embarrassed as all get out Marinette.
But after the initial reveal and a few hiccups, they make it work. Adrien and Marinette eventually are able to talk to one another with a straight face. (Her parents do not help with that. At all.)
Adrien starts joining them for dinner more often. They leave him little care baskets. He invites them to his concerts and fencing matches. They allow him to come over to play video games. He starts bringing his favorite anime. Marinette never forgives him for introducing her father to Ouran Host Club.
It’s more difficult, but Adrien joins them in their taking turns idea. This…actually helps give him a break. He enjoys being a hero, really, but sometimes he just really needs a nap. And there’s no doubt that the Dupain-Chengs can handle the akuma without him on occasion, nor is there any worry of inadequacy nor insecurity because of it. While Tom and Marinette are off saving the city, Adrien gets to learn to make macaroons with Sabine (while trying not to blush at how awesome Marinette looks as Chat). Plus no offense to Plagg, but time away from the cheese-obsessed cat is like a breath of fresh air—literally, since Camembert tends to stink up the place otherwise.
Marinette doesn’t lose her crush on Adrien so much as it just…changes. She stops stuttering around him because she already knows more about him as Chat and that makes him less of the imposing figure that Adrien is to her. That doesn’t mean that he and her parents can’t still make her blush and freak out something fierce. Her parents think it’s sweet. Adrien thinks it’s cute.
And when Adrien comments to Tom and Sabine on marrying their daughter to become part of their family for real, he’s only slightly joking.
