i think one of the most misunderstood and misused "therapy speak" things is I Statements.
I Statements aren't just about starting with "I feel...." they are about identifying, specifically, the emotions you're dealing with, and acknowledging your subjective experience instead of making objective claims about the other person that you can't possibly know.
"i feel like you hate me" is not an I statement. "you hate me" is not an emotion. "i feel insecure in our relationship" or "i feel vulnerable," or even "i'd like affirmation," those are I Statements. you can't just slap "i feel" before an accusatory sentence and call it good. you need to actually pay attention to the spirit of the idea too.
Two thousand twenty four years since say what now?
Loving reminder that the whole world measures time in Christian because our King owns this place 🥰😘
Funniest thing about the Old Testament is how it consistently disparages bronze-age hero type characters crafted by its historical peers and lifts up that saddest patheticest wet little meow meows youve ever seen
and then god appeared to moses and gave him a quest and moses said i hate public speaking and god said okay your brother can do it

It’s thanksgiving season in the US which means that, like every year, there’s a flood of articles encouraging you to fight and/or break ties with your family over political discussions. Bearing that in mind, I’d like to remind you that trying to isolate you from your existing support networks is one of the primary warning signs of a cult.
When can I start talking about the genuine rise of illiteracy going on in the U.S. without being called ableist? Because I'm not talking about people whose first language isn't english or about people with actual disorders, diagnosed or not.
I'm talking about the fact that several of my professors don't know where to put commas, apostrophes, and are spelling words wrong that they DEFINITELY should be getting right in their position. I'm talking about the fact that a lot of grown adults don't know the difference between your/you're, it's/its or there/their/they're. I'm talking about this weird rise of people interchangeably using woman/women??
Mistakes are mistakes. I make mistakes CONSTANTLY. Does it crush my soul when I mix up your/you're? God, yes 😭.
So I'm not talking about mistakes. I'm talking about "they never taught us that" mfs. I'm talking about "whatever it's the same thing" mfs.
I swear I don't want this to come off rude or mean but I just notice it more and more?

Say in the tags what you voted for and if you live in or outside of the US
"New Yorkers hate it" is not nearly broad nor objective enough, I need an "it sucks" option like we got for the Ohio poll.
Jesus: “Help your neighbors and the poor.”
Sinners: “But Jesus, what if we just outsource that to the government?”
Jesus: “…okay I’m going to start from the top. Let me know when I lost you.”
Who the hell can afford to replace these things that often? Being able to buy my FIRST couch is like a daydream I come back to?! (I don't want a used bedbugs one) Also what the fuck do you MEAN microwaves have removable filters somewhere
Here's a different edition
YALL BITCHES ARE REPLACING FURNITURE BECAUSE IT'S *OLD*????
Edit: ohhh no way in FUCK are you tossing out SHEETS, you get some good thrifted linen and that shit's living through your grandkids, fuck off
I beg to differ: replace the shower curtain liner if you can't find a way to get the pink stuff off without destroying the liner. Replace the pillow when it's no longer fluffy, because it becomes full of mostly your dead skin. Something similar may be true of a throw pillow.
Other than that I agree
it is a beautiful day and you are a horrible goose screaming at a ringwraith
It’s a shiny rock, what’s not to like?
I fucking adore amethysts. I don’t care what their “meaning” is…magpie brain like pretty purple rock. Adorn self with rocks. Be cute.
Hee hee hoo hoo shiny rock
Honestly I do like knowing the ‘meanings’ of gemstones but I think of them as less a thing they ‘do’ and more like you know. The meanings of flowers. Like, amethyst means peace and calm. Having one isn’t going to magically heal my anxiety sure that’d just be silly but I like that I can give a pretty purple rock to a friend as a way of saying ‘I hope you have a nice chill time today’ just like you would with flower language. Especially since saying the same thing with flower language would use lavender and a lot of people I know are allergic to that so here have a purple rock instead
the only medicinal properties crystals have is “I did not previously own a shiny rock but now I do :)”
Unless it is specifically rock salt. Then you can also add ‘mmm tastey’ to the list.

Color has been disappearing from the world.
A new research group used machine learning to track color changes in common materials and items, below is their findings for all color changes over time, they used 7000+ items from the 1800s to now to determine color changes in the most common items.
Below are the colors of cars by year, notice how the majority of cars are grey, white, or black compared to twenty years ago.
These aren't data points, but they are comparisons between the 'modern' homes of the 70s and 80s compared to the modern homes of today.
Carpets have equally had the same treatment of grey added to them! The most common color of carpet is now grey or beige.
Even locations that used to scream with color for decades have now modernized to becoming boring minimalist (and I love minimalism) personality-less locations.
The world is becoming colorless, why?

This German art student, Benjamin Harff, decided, for his exam at the Academy of Arts, to do something only slightly ambitious — to hand-illuminate and bind a copy of J.R.R. Tolkien’s Silmarillion. It took him six months of work. He hand-illuminated the text which had been printed on his home Canon inkjet printer. He worked with a binder to assemble the resulting book.

Wow. This makes me feel like I should do something productive today.
Ohhhh, okay, so he didn’t *write* the text, it was printed on a modern printer and then he illuminated it. As a scribe myself, that makes much more sense and also helps me feel a lot less inadequate! I was pretty sure it would have taken him *years* to actually write *and* illuminate the book. I’m not at all trying to downplay the extent or quality of his work, just setting into context that he took on a human sized project rather than a superhuman one.
Beautiful, beautiful work.
