I cannot believe there's absolutely no way to watch free shows and movies anymore, there are too many paid streaming platforms and pirating websites have viruses and ads preventing you from watching it uninterrupted((.)) id rather follow the rules and purchase media moving forward because it is too inconvenient. Seriously, free and no ads or viruses with 1080p streaming is DEAD.

i feel like one of the weirdest realizations you (or at least i) eventually have a few years into transitioning and being mostly around other trans people, is that moment where u notice that like ur brains mapping of like specific voices to specific genders is just kinda gone. like it rly is just all social constructs programmed into u by society, and living outside societies idea of gender just kinda melts that shit away, and it's not just voices, like other traditionally gendered attributes also suddenly don't matter anymore*

Hey, so if you have Windows 11 installed and have been losing your mind over the fact that you can't find your own files because Windows is now prioritizing internet search results first, you can fix it by following this guide:

Stop the OS from pulling up web results when you just want files and apps.

As someone with over 900 GB of intentionally and properly named files on her computer (I do a lot of digital art and digital media work that requires high-volume files that function off of dependencies), this feature was making me furious. I followed the above instructions and can confirm that the method outlined solves the problem.

I once again would like to recommend Winaero Tweaker which lets you tweak a bunch of stuff in Windows 10 and 11 without doing any registry editing or stuff like that.

For example, disabling the web search in the start menu can be done with one click.

Same goes for disabling any and all ads across the whole operating system:

And this program can do more... a lot more.

A few other great free programs that will make Windows much more useable:

10AppsManager: Uninstalls all the fucking useless ass bloatware that comes with Windows 10 (sadly doesn't seem to work with 11).

Everything: Insanely powerful file search tool. Seriously, I searched for every picture file on my 6TB hard drive that has well over 100,000 folders on it, and this program found all 450,000 pictures, INSTANTLY.

Advanced renamer: as the name suggests, it lets you rename files with a bunch of options. Essential for when you work with a lot of files.

ShareX: Open source screenshotting tool that has a bunch of other tools as well. For example, it can recognize text in photos (OCR), read and create QR codes, record your screen as video or gif and too much other stuff to list here.

SuperF4: Kill programs instantly with Ctrl+Alt+F4. That's all it does, no questions asked.

Friday, August 4th: Hello everyone, I’m Gemma, a bi, mentally ill, and disabled woman in desperate need of help, as I've only managed to pay off my rent, but now I have nothing left to get groceries or to pay for my utilities.

As most of you are already aware from my previous posts, I have been struggling financially these past few years due to Covid-19 and my welfare benefit (Universal Credit) being under continuous reviews, which is due to my worsening mental/physical health and the UK’s controversial changes to how benefits are assessed and assigned. After a lengthy health assessment, I have been declared unfit for work. However, I am still waiting for the outcome of my Adult Disability application, which I applied for back on January 15th!!

I know this is a difficult time for everyone, and I'm so sorry to be asking for help again so soon after you all helped me, but I still desperately need some as I've just managed to pay off my rent, but now I have no money to cover my utility bills or get groceries for the month.
