Home sweet home. 4th of July in Pilsen is fun to watch, terrifying to bike through.

Saint Mary of Dibs, pray for us.
For the first time ever, we decided to put dibs on our spot today. I wish we had something more interesting than and Ikea stool to risk the elements with.
Let’s get modern tech into the Girl Scout curriculum
Hello! I’m a former Girl Scout. I’ve spent the last three years in the San Francisco Bay Area and have witnessed the recent surge in popularity of the Maker movement. Girl Scouts could provide a large number of girls with the opportunity to try their hand at electronics if it was part of the core curriculum, but it isn’t. The current Girl Scout curriculum doesn’t touch modern electronics from a creator’s perspective, but it should.
Help make it happen at https://teachgirlstech.squarespace.com/

Rainy Day
I’m constantly amazed at the fact that I can take a walk in the morning; shoot pictures, edit and process the pictures and share them with you by the early afternoon. For better or worse we live in an amazing time.

This piece is actually 'Wunderblock,' an installation at the Nasher Sculpture Garden in Dallas.
In a step towards self-discovery and general purpose, I quit my job in advertising, started waiting tables, and will be starting a certification as a Phlebotomist in September. In the mean time, I've been making things to clear my head, and have started a teeny tiny etsy venture, at etsy.com/shop/21elephants.
And that's about it. Transition is scary, but doing things that I really love is easing the fear.

Joyless month of January, when indifferent midday sets up its lessons in the sky, in hard-hearted gold. Like the wine in a glass filled up to the brim, it fills the earth to its blue limits.
The misfortunes of these times seem like little grapes that gather their green bitterness -- the confused, hidden tears of each day -- until bad weather brings them out in bunches.
Yes, the fresh shoots and the pain, all that quivers, terrified in the crackling of the January light, will come to fruit, will burn as the fruit burns.
And our sorrows will be torn apart. The soul will give off a gale, and our home will be left clean, with fresh bread on the table.
