Skincare 2018: Products that saved my skin (a short review)
I’m sharing my skincare products that have helped my skin recover from breakouts and clogged pores!
> In Her Element Low Ph Rose Gel Cleanser – I’ve been using this for the past two weeks and so far, it works very well with my acne-prone skin. It did not break me out nor clog my pores since this only has a low ph level. The ingredient list is also high grade, with aloe vera, licorice extract, and tea tree extract with the first three on the list. These ingredients I think brightened up my skin and lightened my acne scarring; I will definitely repurchase!
> Holika Holika 99% Aloe Gel – one of the best aloe vera gel moisturizers that I have used with no irritants like alcohol; 100% natural with a short ingredient list packed with other antioxidants such as centella asiatica root extract
> The Ordinary Niacinamide with Zinc – helped in fading my acne scars/pet but to a certain extent only; strengthened my skin barrier, and has helped my skin be more resilient after being damaged by testing out products that irritated my skin; one of my ultimate faves from The Ordinary
> Lumiere Organic, Cold-pressed Rosehip Seed Oil – one of my best skincare discoveries last year; helped in fading with acne scarring as well; I mix 2-3 drops of this oil every night with my aloe gel; makes my skin look plump and healthy after use
> Missha First Treatment Essence Moist – another amazing skincare find last year!; if you are not sensitive to fermented ingredients, this essence is a must; it makes my skin glow every time I use it; lessens the appearance of pores; I have seen significant difference in just 2 weeks of consistent use
> The Ordinary 5% Lactic Acid 2% Hylaraunic Acid – another The Ordinary gem; I use it twice a week very sparingly; my pores have looked so much better after using this, and it has shed off all my dead skin cells; although I don’t have huge pores with blackheads, I still deal with clogged pores near my cheeks and in my nose area
> Skinfood Salmon Eye Cream – brightens up my dark underye circles; helped lighten my underyes to a certain extent only
> Celeteque Alcohol free toner (not in the picture) – this product is okay; does not dry out my skin and preps my skin well for other skincare steps
> Garnier Micellar Water for Oily Skin (not in the picture) – before cleansing my face, I apply this on a cotton pad to remove all the makeup on my face, does the job well and can remove stubborn eye liner; did not irritate my skin
*I have acne-prone, sensitive, and oily skin. My main concerns involve faded acne scarring and clogged pores
