Somewhere, deep down, I have a burning hope for better. When I close my eyes, I can see something better.

Ken Sample and his cougar character, origin of the fursona.
From "The Fandom" on YouTube.
Here's a couple other really good pieces from him I thought should be included in the post!!
ive been thinking abt furry
like if u took some of the ideas to their conclusion it could be so radical. rejecting anthropocentrism as a framework. but in practice it ends up being mostly abt consuming media.
like dont get me wrong i love furry but i dont love the focus on mass media, i dont love the commissions market or template ychs or closed species. (i also dont love seeing my body type referred to as "trap" "futa" "shemale" but that kind of transmisogyny isnt exclusive to furries)
as a market furry is like. kinda horrifically hypercapitalistic. its even more of a buyers market than some i think a lot abt how young inexperienced artists are exploited by it like u straight up have underpaid child labor without any hierarchy to enforce it bc the market demands cheap art.
and i have v conflicting feelings on how the fursona so perfectly meets social medias pressure to turn ur identity into a brand.
like every time i see someone talking abt furry in a romanticizing way as tho its inherently queer or radical i have to roll my eyes. yall do this with punk too.
