controversial opinion but

we as a society have progressed past the need for the original west end/ukt cast of six

Am I the only one kinda annoyed about the pro-shot? I know the original West End cast has a cult following, but I 100% wish they used another cast. (No hate to the un-problematic OG cast members.)

So I finally listened to the cast album.

A few thoughts:

- Did they have Andrea tone herself down knowing it would be recorded? She sounded good of course but like she was missing something.

- I'm sorry to all the fans, but I do not enjoy Sam Pauly's AYWD. She shows little emotion throughout the entire song; there's barely any inflections on words that make sense as to why they're being said. It simply sounds like she's singing the song as a singer— not as an actress. And of course, the end was filled with emotion, but not any that really made much sense. Through the beginning of the song, she never sounded emotionally invested in the story she was telling. It's hard to believe that the emotion she displayed at the end could be genuine for the character without proper set up. She tells the events as if she's not playing the character, but as if she's a third person view for it, then tries to come back and tell it. Likewise, the 'ever' yell is unnecessary and just sounds bratty rather than betrayed. She has a very solid voice but the performance itself is bare bones— an example of tragic under acting followed by over acting as compensation. Before anyone comes and says I "missed the point of the show", by the way, criticism is natural in musical theatre and six should not be exempt from it— the moral is not to compare women; not to avoid criticizing them.

Apparently, people aren't a fan of Cassie's take on Cleves? And I literally don't understand. It is zany, whacky, and fun! She gives off ratchet real housewives vibes and it's my absolute favorite thing. The "like, follow, subscribe" at the end...genius! All the little strange, weird things she does with her voice throughout the song is really fun. It's a very different interpretation. And it's fine if it's not your cup of tea, but I feel like some people just aren't giving it a chance or it's more personal. I think it's awesome, I like that she really made it her own thing.

kinda agree with the post made by @anarchistvera regarding snout the 5th reunion they’ve done.

while it’s nice to see them perform the show once again and diehard fans will be over the moon about it, it is not like its been forever since they have been associated with the show...

jarneia natalie and lexi left the show not too long ago, so it is kinda alright for them to be returning - I see no issue and personally cannot wait to see them.

millie we have seen tied to so many controversies and this will probably only introduce more hate towards the current boleyns as people will be wanting her to return to the west end cast

aimie is the one that makes the most sense aswell, she was in the studio cast and personally is a great vocalist but i just hope she can get away from six to really focus on her own career.

maiya doesnt need a return because she’s returned about 3 times already!

if any cast should reunite, it should be the student cast. in summer they will be celebrating their 5th anniversary which is very big whereas i dont see how the reunion links up with any kinda event? and two shows? god if ur gonna reunite the entire cast for the 3rd time at least put on a decent amount of shows.

anarchist also pointed out how disrespectful it is to the casts. UKT is coming off of a high, new WE cast have been working so goddamn hard and the NAT cast are about to debut so this is definitely quite distracting from other achievements. there isn’t anything very special about this reunion to people who haven’t stanned a cast who were in the west end for 9 months?

overall, im not complaining and understand diehard fans perspectives, but there is no specific need for this reunion - no charitable causes, no anniversary, no really big return (they’ve all still been in association with the show, half of them about 3 years on) so what’s the point?
