WE FUCKING DID IT!!! and we still have 5 days left to go - let's keep up the momentum and keep up the hype to support advocates for immigrant youth - some of the most vulnerable people in the US. And if you're from another country, we still so appreciate your help as this supports the dignity of all people, regardless of where they happened to be born or their age.
We fucking did it!!
Sketched this in a frenzy after seeing That Rhys picture. This is professor Bonnet, and everyone's in love with him
Let's learn about the Young Center!
The auction has been open for just about two hours now and we've already raised over $6000!! I love our crew so much. 🏳️🌈🏴☠️🦄🍊💙
This account will be showcasing art for auction over the next few days, but first, we wanted to tell you about the organization our fundraiser is supporting.
The Young Center for Immigrant Children's Rights: https://www.theyoungcenter.org/, is a 501c3 nonprofit that has been helping immigrant children for over 20 years.
For many reasons, children can wind up in the US immigration system without a responsible adult or guardian. This system is incredibly complex and can be daunting to navigate for adults - imagine being a child who has no legal training, is far from any adults who know them, and maybe doesn’t speak English.
The Young Center steps in to help these children in a number of ways:
They advocate for children’s wishes and best interests
They fight for children’s right to be with family - ensuring that no matter what, children are with a trusted, adult caregiver.
They strive for an immigration system that centers children’s rights and best interests throughout all steps of their detention and release.
They ensure kids can access fair proceedings and permanency - meaning that children and their families have fair opportunities in court and the right to seek permanent protection in the U.S.
They amplify and uplift children’s voices.
Finally, they support safe communities - because children don’t thrive alone.
One of the biggest things they do is provide independent Child Advocates to unaccompanied and separated children - advocating for them with US government officials and, if necessary, providing safe repatriation support to children returning to their home country.
Supporting the Young Center not only helps children trapped in a system that we know can cause them immense harm - it also helps keep the web of nonprofits that support all immigrants in the USA able to do their important work.
It’s no secret that the current administration has targeted funding for all kinds of crucial services that people inside the US - both citizens and non-citizens - pay extensive taxes to support. Nonprofits all over the country are currently struggling due to loss of federal grants; this effect is trickling down to state and city funded grants as well as some states struggle to fill in service gaps caused by Medicaid and SNAP cuts.
Please help us support the Young Center at this critical moment for the rights of immigrants and particularly immigrant children - and if you have other favorite nonprofits in the US doing liberatory work under this administration, support them too!
Check out the Young Center’s work more here! They have volunteer opportunities in addition to opportunities to donate!

that one heatstroke photoshoot but make it Stede
A Stede study I almost regretted starting halfway through because I had to keep looking at his sad little face
A Taika sketch that turned into Ed
Quick Stede study because I want to learn how to draw his face
