In China, house churches (nicknamed "Underground" churches) are, in their most basic form, a safe place where Christians, in the midst of their hostile government and culture, can gather to freely study God's Word, pray, and worship Jesus. In this same way, my heart and prayer for our youth room, The Underground, is that it will be a safe place for our students, in the midst of OUR OWN hostile government and culture, to freely study God's Word, pray, and worship Jesus Christ.

Satisfying Thirst and A Prayer for Runners

Tomorrow we'll have the great pleasure of serving as volunteers during the Little Rock Marathon. We will be staffing the Aid Station in front of the State Capitol (13.2mi marker). Look for the smiling faces and green neon shirts.

At CBCNLR we are in the midst of studying the Sermon on the Mount and since we are staffing a Hydration station we thought that Matthew 5:6 would make a great focus for tomorrow. For us and perhaps you the participant as well.

"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied."

So we hope to help your thirst any way we can.

The Runners Prayer

Lord, Watch over me today as I run. This is the day and this is the time for the race.

Watch over my body. Keep it free from injury. Watch over my mind.

May I listen to the signals from within as I enjoy the scenes from without.

Watch over my spirit. Watch over my competitors. Remind us that we all are struggling equally.

Lord, Let me win. Not by coming in ahead of my friends, but by beating myself. Let it be an inner win. A battle won over me.

And may I say at the end, "I have fought a good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith."

A Final Day Report from our Ecudor Mission Tream: God is so good.

As I write this, we are packing up to leave this beautiful place where God came before us, prepared the way, & blessed us through our time here with these beautiful people. We shared so many testimonies through the week of seeing God first hand, feeling the presence of the Holy Spirit, and even witnessing Satan's attempts to attack stopped in Jesus' name.

Our missionary's wife cooked a wonderful meal for us, two of our translator's (married couple) let me and my kids have the privilege of singing in their church, and they gave one of the best birthday surprises ever to one of our own. We saw God take the hands of a special man, our driver, and fix our broken down bus on the side of the mountain.

We loved on beautiful children, enjoyed their laughter, and drank in every drop of their sweet innocence and genuine love.

We held dirty, rough hands and prayed through tears for requests shared by the people here.

Most of all, through the power of the Holy Spirit, we led people to the Lord. There is just something about this place, these people, and getting to share His love. God is SO good.

Greetings from our Ecuador Mission team!

Greetings from Ecuador! We arrived safely. God was gracious with His travel mercies! Today we went by bus 2.5 hours outside Ambato to a remote area called Totorillas, the hometown of one of our translators. Our group split between two school houses, one preschool & one regular school, & a couple of our guys had the privilege of going into the translator's home. We were blessed by a meal of gratitude from the people at the school, and the kids were awesome! We presented the gospel with the beads/bracelets, we did puppet shows, we sang to them, they sang to us, we worked on English words, & we played! The people were so grateful! It was a sweet time! What a great day! Keep us in your prayers! We hope you are blessed by the video!

2 Bible Studies & Outreach Event this Sunday Apr 15

We have a couple of studies starting this Sunday, Apr 15 and we wanted to make sure you aware of these different opportunities.

New Member Class - This class led by Pastor Wyman is designed for new and prospective members to help introduce our vision and the Four Canons. Class will meet in room 121 for the next 4 weeks during the Sunday School hour.

Men's Bible Study - A Bible Study associated with the Courageous film will begin Sunday afternoon at 5pm. It will be led by Bro. Carey Jones, drop by Ministry booth to sign up.

Finally we have an outreach event set for 4:30 tomorrow afternoon. So come participate in CentralReach, we have something for everyone.

Join us in E100 Bible Reading Challenge

The New Year is just days away and many of you are thinking this is the year that you will read the entire Bible. We start with great gusto in Genesis 1:1 but within weeks get bogged down somewhere in Leviticus. So perhaps it is time for a fresh approach to reading God's Word.

This year we are challenging the church to join together and take the E100 Bible Reading Challenge.

What is the E100 Challenge?

The Essential 100 (E100) is a Bible Reading plan developed by Scripture Union that is comprised of 100 carefully selected passages that combine to give you a big picture view of the Bible. It's a reading plan that is designed to be approachable, achievable, and enjoyable.

At the end of April we will recognize everyone that has completed the E100 challenge and we want you to be part of that celebration. Even more so we want you to experience the life changing power of God's Word in your own life.

How to participate

Volunteer Opportunity with Clothes Closet

As you know our Food Pantry & Clothes Closet is relocating to the North Pulaski Baptist Association Missions Center. We need volunteers to help organize the Clothes Closet this Monday and Tuesday, Dec 12-13 beginning at 9am.
