Joongki hated his job because it meant interacting with people and Joongki no longer did people. People made the hero drained and often irritated him. He preferred to be by himself as he wouldn’t get hurt that way. If he was always by himself then he wouldn’t get attached to people who would eventually leave him. Just like everyone else.

He was sitting at a cafe on one of the outside tables. He was on break and he didn’t have another group until later in the afternoon. Joongki was reading over his schedule and sipping his coffee. He had tried to ignore the presence that lingered in front of him but it didn’t take long for the Nightshade co-leader to grow irritated.

Joongki raised his head to look at the other. ❝ Can I help you? ❞ He asked, his voice dry.
