tonk'peh.
tushah nash-veh k'dular. you gave us so much & your journey with us is over now but you will never be forgotten. you've returned to the stars you've inspired so many to seek ; and you spent your time on earth preaching love and patience and goodness. you are gone but you are with us, still, spirit immortalized forever -- you have created so many that love the universe and chase after all the good their own existence promises. you will be so dearly missed but your legacy is a lasting one ; we will reach the stars and it will be with you in our hearts. you have been and shall always be our friend.
thank you. for everything. rest in peace, leonard nimoy. you gave us so much & we will love you always.
change is the essential process of all existence.
rom-halan. you took us to the stars.
hiatus notice ;
★★; ILLOGICAL.
hey ! yes. i am alive. & incredibly sorry for my extended absence ; there's been a lot going on & managing this blog on top of all of that has proved impossible. i'm putting spock on hiatus until i have more time & energy to write him. if you need me / want to write with me, i'm exclusively on my octavia blake. see y'all on the other side ♥.
❛ Are you in possession of a first aid kit?❜
Eleven years old with green blood dripping from a split lip, slimy against his teeth, copper taste inescapable, Spock is confronted for the first time with the realization that he is utterly alone. His mother is on Vulcan, his father in hearings all day, and the aide tasked to watch him had been far too little of a challenge to escape from. In hindsight, exploring the city with a guide might have prevented him from attack by boys certain to join Terra Prime in their adulthood, but he can do nothing about that now. His main priority is treating his injuries before he returns to his father; he hopes the stranger he approaches will not share the qualms about Vulcans his previous contacts had held.
「???; 」
Separated? The news does not seem to sit well with him — indeed, his face now twists, as if he has tasted something unpleasant. Separated in the night — such things are not uncommon, though how he wishes they were! Separated — but the other speaks as if he has hope of finding his group again. Perhaps they were not slain? It would be his first assumption that they were attacked, so close to the shadow’s domain; had they strayed too far off-course in the dark, it might well have led them into trouble…but Boromir has never known the Elves to have trouble in the night, or in orienting themselves and finding their way, by sun or by moonlight.
Still, the news troubles him, and he would give the other the benefit of the doubt — he cannot disprove the other’s story, for now, and he will not behave in a hostile manner towards one of the Fair Folk. He makes no move to call for guards, or otherwise imped the others’ taking of the clothes — but there’s a huff of confused laughter. How far has this stranger come, to not know? They have dealings with some of the Elven folk here; their currency is not an obscure fact. All the same, he will humor him.
“We use tharni," he offers, raising his brows slightly. "Canath,” he offers again — two words for the same currency; the Westron version, and Sindarin, though he is unsure of how far the other has traveled from. Perhaps Sindarin is not spoken among those he travels with. “Silver coins.” He reaches to his belt and pulls a small leather purse from it, and opens it — he dumps a few of the items from his the bag, and into his hand, and offers them up for inspection.
“We also participate in trade. Though, if you ask out of some concern for your ability to reimburse us for the clothing — consider it unnecessary. I would not accept payment from someone in need. Come — I will take you to our halls. Father may be busy, but I will see to it that you have a bed and food, and then I will request our men send out a patrol. We may yet find your missing group. Find them well, if there is any luck to be had.”
Silver -- Ag -- atomic number 47, atomic mass 107.8682, generally considered a precious metal and used as a tool for barter throughout the history of the galaxy, notably on Earth. Spock nods.
❛ I am familiar.❜
Replies short and simple, he aims to reveal little information and to gather enough from the world he is in to avoid grave mistake, but trial and error is not a scientific method. Attempts cannot be made without a hypothesis, and experiments -- dangerous ones -- need fail-safes. This is not an experiment, but he finds it safer to put his own fail-safe in place here, too -- one besides the strength of his legs and his knowledge of kheile'a.
❛ Your kindness is appreciated. I will ensure you are compensated when I am able to do so.❜
His gratitude is genuine; and far be it from a Vulcan to refuse the help necessary to the survival -- far be it from a Vulcan, too, to leave someone else in need, and he has not been able to determine whether or not the man falls into that category. His intention to appear as a non-threat is also genuine; he is foreign, and experience has taught him much about how life-forms perceive differences as dangers.
❛ you have left your queen vulnerable.❜

Opinion on;
Character in general: SPOCK. Where do I even begin? I have so much love for his character — he’s so complex. AOS or TOS, he has my heart in a way few characters do, because though I’ve never been able to play him, I do understand him, in a way. The emotional aspect of him fascinates him, as well as the constant struggle between the halves of himself — I want most dearly to see him at peace with those conflicts, and at peace with himself. Particularly in AOS, though it has too many flaws to count, I feel for him — so much loss! I feel like there are so many things to know and learn about him; and seeing as how I played McCoy, I have a particular interest in his biological make-up and how his parentage affected him — his body, his immune system, his organ placement, the make-up of his blood; he’s just — for lack of a better word, and I cringe to say it. — fascinating.How they play them: Are you even kidding me? Easily one of my favorite Spocks, and I’ve had the pleasure of interacting with a lot of good ones. Spock is a really — delicate muse, and I’ve always felt that it’s very, very easy to focus too much on only one aspect of him; to ignore emotion in favor of logic, or ignore logic in favor of emotion, but the fact of the matter is that Spock is a being composed of both traits, both of which are very deeply ingrained in him. You’ve always managed to strike that balance so well, and I love to watch your Spock’s mind work, because it works just as I would expect it to. You do a fantastic job.The Mun: Allison, you’re one of the sweetiest sweeties ever tbh. We don’t talk all that often, but I adore you, I really do, and I very much appreciate our conversations. I think of you so fondly, and I’m so happy I can count you among my friends. You’re just absolutely wonderful, and I hope to get to know you better in the future, and that we can become even closer friends.
Do I:
RP with them: Certainly.Want to RP with them: All the threads tbh.
What is my;
Overall Opinion: IT IS ONLY LOGICAL THAT YOU FOLLOW THE FIRST COMMANDER.
**Note: Mun’s answer are all to be completely honest. Don’t send url if you don’t want brutal honesty

“ Sir, what you are suggesting to me is a no win scenario. If one were to attempt to save the crew and breech the Neutral Zone, the risk of war with the Klingons would reach up to 83.67%The logical answer would be to abandon the crew. If war were to start there would be more deaths. One needs to think of the lives of the many that would be ended to save the lives of those on one ship.”
❝ You have forgotten about what caused their incapacitation in the first place. How do you know your own ship is not at risk? You have not attempted to contact the vessel as to inquire about the circumstances. Is it not possible the Klingons have already violated the treaty?❞

their questions ;
1.) Of the four common school subjects (Language Arts/Math/Science/History), which one is their favourite?
Science. He's good at all of them, of course; he's studied enough to be, but science will always be the easiest for him. It's concrete; there are laws and rules that cannot be broken -- but it's not. There's a version of him walking around from another universe. The constants of this universe sometimes aren't constants, and it's that surprise -- that mix of fact and wonder, logical and illogical, that interests him. It means there's always something new to figure out and rationalize; the universe is constantly changing and he's there for it. Also -- the way even the most logical things can change or have illogical aspects -- it reminds him a little of himself, although he doesn't think about that.
2.) What kind of weather do they prefer?
Sun, clear skies, and dry air. He loves the heat. It reminds him of Vulcan. Desert environments suit him best.
3.) If they came across a wounded cat or dog, what would they do?
If he didn't have more pressing issues to deal with ( matters that deal with life or death themselves, or issues of similar severity or threat to his job & life & friends ) he would stop to help it. He's Vulcan; his people don't believe in killing any living thing, whether sentient or not -- and they don't believe in suffering, either. He would take it to the nearest vet & pay for its treatment in full. ( If there is no chance of ending its suffering and restoring it to a full, enjoyable life, he would advocate for putting it down. Protecting life doesn't mean protecting misery. )
4.) If they were in a bar and a fight broke out, how would they react?
He would either stay out of the situation or attempt to diffuse it, either through reason or kheile'a.
5.) What is their preferred method of transportation?
Whatever is most convenient, although if he has the time he enjoys walking. It allows him time alone with his thoughts when he does not have time to meditate.
6.) Are they an introvert or an extrovert?
He's absolutely introverted. He draws his power & strength from within.
7.) Do they suffer from any disorders?
That's hard to answer -- he's physically fit, in prime condition, and no symptoms of a mental disorder present. However, the controls taught to him on Vulcan dampen whatever symptoms would be present were he fully human; on Vulcan, before meeting with the Council, he was anxious to the point of being physically ill -- that would not be unheard of for a human, but for a Vulcan it is an incredible failure at emotional control. The anxiety felt by Spock in such a situation exceeded tenfold what would've been felt by a human; he could have dealt with a human amount. I'm hesitant to say he has an anxiety disorder -- you cannot diagnose a non-human with human disorders -- but I think he would struggle much more with anxiety, was he not able to control his emotions in the Vulcan way.
8.) How do they fall asleep?
He meditates before sleep, which generally clears his head enough to allow him to do so. He sleeps on his back, limbs neatly arranged.
9.) Do they have any ‘special talents’?
He plays the Vulcan lute; he's also incredibly talented with computers -- he specialized in computer programming at the Academy and could hack into almost any system, should he wish to do so. He caught Jim Kirk, after all.
10.) What is their ideal mate?
Someone human. He's attracted most to those who display characteristics he represses, because they show the side of him he has been told to ignore and distrust -- and they are good, nonetheless. They are incredibly human and they are capable of making excellent decisions nonetheless; that's why he's so drawn to Jim and Nyota (and McCoy, to an extent. )
11.) If they were an inanimate object, what would it be?
A computer. Comparing him to a computer is inaccurate and reduces him to a one-dimensional logic machine, but nonetheless there is no other object as complex as he.
my questions;
i ( didn’t ) ask ( for ) any ( of ) this.
( dr. foster; )
As he spoke Lyra couldn’t help but fiddle with her hands, adrenaline had rushed in her veins just from the conversation. It wasn’t like Ciaran was there, but just speaking of him reminded her that he was still out there somewhere. But now that part was over and she faced her fears. Talking about her situation with someone other than her brother. " Thank you, if…if I may ask you something, I’d like to.”
❝ What is your query?❞
The Vulcan exudes both professionalism and patience, raising an eyebrow as he waits for the women to speak, willing to answer whatever she may ask. He sees no benefit in the brusque methods typical in command officers, as treating those working under your command as if they are lesser only discourages them from working at maximum efficiency. Also, he has a moral objection to making any living creature feel inadequate, which he strives to avoid in all fields. There is a difference between constructive criticism and bullying, and the line between is not one he cares to walk.
( ???; )
believe him when he says —- being here unnanounced was not something of his agenda; while he prefers to live unpredictably, in political affairs he is a man of a punctual nature. he caters to the expectancies of the other party and does his best to leave on a ligher, rather than sour note.
but dropping out of light speed due to a cruiser malfunction in a quadrant in range of the enterprise’s scanners, wasn’t on his to-do list. securing the whereabouts of grievous and ensuring his capture in a clean, timely fashion, however, was.
it seemed now, though, that in his narrow avoidance of getting himself, anakin, and the numbered clones accompanying them detected, he did just that. it wasn’t his fault the hyperdrive motivator quit when it did —- but the fact that they entered federation space without alerting starfleet in an attempt to save time did fall on his shoulders.
and here they were.
❝ —- we were in the midst of a ѕponтaneoυѕ, very improvised pursuit of the wanted separatist leader, grievous, when our motivator malfunctioned and dropped our cruiser out of lightspeed in this sector. under normal circumstances, commander, we would have notified starfleet of our course of action, but in order to save time —- both yours and ours —- we meant to inform you. evenтυally. ❞
❝ If he was in Federation space, you should have alerted Starfleet, who are fully capable of pursuit. Our Federation was created in order to avoid intergalactic war; we cannot enter yours, but we can apprehend war criminals who cross into our sector. The Enterprise could have assisted you.❞
Grievous is gone by now, Spock is certain; a man of his experience and skill would not halt in his escape until he was certain he was out of danger. If he is still in Federation space, there is a chance he will be caught, but they are too close to the Neutral Zone to believe that the leader had not seized the opportunity to cross into an area untouchable by all Federation vessels. The crimes committed by Grievous are crimes unforgivable by the Federation, and they will not harbor a fugitive; if captured, he will be returned to the proper authorities for trial. The same would be done if a wanted member of the Republic crossed into their territory. Nevertheless, they cannot intrude on Klingon space without risking a war of their own.
❝ Is the Council aware of your location? Starfleet will most likely contact them for confirmation of your mission.❞

their questions ;
1. What keeps them up at night?
Watching his mother slip from his grasp and fall into the core of his crumbling planet ; learning that one day can be the difference between being part of a species with six billion members and being part of one that is endangered ; watching the man who had consumed his soul die, separated from him by a piece of glass ; knowing loss and pain and fear and trying so hard to avoid them that he numbs himself to everything.
( but he meditates nightly for hours, and that clears his head -- at least, it allows him to push the things that trouble him away and keep them from clouding his mind. none of it matters when he's waking up at four in the morning because his dreams are filled with his mothers face. he'll never forget the fear in her eyes when she realized she was going to die ; will never forget that her last words were at attempt to help him. if anything keeps him up, it's not the thoughts themselves -- it's the fear of them, because his dreams are the only things he can't control. )
2. What is their favourite sound?
The sound of the Vulcan lute has always been comforting, but the hum of the Enterprise's engines has become a constant for him after spending so much time on board -- they're a way of measuring the situation ; he can recognize unexpected shifts and tell if things are well or not.
3. What do they do if they are stuck outside in the rain?
He doesn't hate the rain, but he doesn't enjoy it -- his body temperature is lower than humans' ( 91 degrees Fahrenheit ), and he's from a desert planet. Rain fascinates him, as do thunder storms, and he'll watch them if he has the time, but only from inside. If he's outside he tries to seek shelter and dry clothes as soon as possible, but if he has no choice he continues in his task.
4. Do they preferred to be in open or closed spaces?
He has loved the desert since he was a small child ; the seemingly endless expanses never failed to sooth his troubled heart. The desert reminds him of home ; he prefers open, flat land -- and not only because it offers good visibility. His people evolved to survive in the desert, so he's best suited to places similar -- his body's functions serve him best then.
5. If you were to pull out the first book on their bookshelf, what would it be?
His books are alphabetized for easy access ; he doesn't own that many, only a few bookcases, and he keeps them in his apartment on Earth. The first book is thick, forty years old and leather bound, with pages that have been softened over time by touch. On the first page is an inscription that reads, ' Amanda Grayson, 2229.' It is the journal she kept for the first year before his birth and the next five, her writing small but neat.
6. Are they musical/ do the enjoy listening to music?
Certainly. He plays the aforementioned Vulcan lute and has a definite appreciation for music ; music is numerical but ethereal nonetheless, a mix of the right brain and the left. Fitting, for a man who is half Vulcan and half not.
7. Are they religious/ do they believe in a higher power?
No. He doesn't. He believes in science, in free will, in man's ability to determine their fates for themselves. Does he believe in an afterlife? He believes in the katra.
8. Do they have any false perceptions of themselves?
None false. He's squarely rooted in his views of his ability ; he knows his capabilities and his weaknesses. In terms of his sense of self he's uncertain -- but never wrong, because he's never sure enough to be so.
9. If they had a therapist, what’s the first thing they would tell them?
About the loss of Vulcan, without emotional detail, followed by a statement about the lack of necessity regarding his involvement in therapy.
10. If your muse were a colour, what colour would they be?
Light blue. Blue for calm and clarity, blue for sadness and deep grief, blue for the expanses of his mind and how lost he can become, blue like the ocean, waves rough then calm, tugging him farther and farther from land, and blue for the color of Jim Kirk's eyes, pulling him back after so long at sea.
11. Are they vain? Does any aspect of their external appearance hugely matter to them?
He's not vain. Vulcans aren't prideful creatures, and pride is not an emotion he expresses or feels. He's confident in his abilities, which leads to others unfamiliar with his people and customs assuming he's vain, but he's only acknowledging the truth. He finds it foolish to feign modesty.
* fxmily tagged me in this as well, so I'll tag people & post questions of my own when I answer theirs !!!
❝ He is still unconscious. I will alert you if there is a change in his condition.❞
It becomes unbearable to sit in the room, watching the slow rise and fall of Jim Kirk's chest, the only sign that the man is alive. He cannot stay, eyes flicking constantly from his vitals to his face, but he finds himself unable to go far from Jim even when he leaves the room. Now he is seated on the floor in the hall, PADD in front of him, container of soup to his right, sunlight from the setting sun filtering in through the floor to ceiling windows and painting him in a pale, green light. The artificial lights in the hall are dim, and his voice echos when he speaks.
❝ Mr. Spock, I find it necessary to ask what your intentions are if we cannot find a way to reverse engineer the transporters and return my party to our universe of origin. As we do not legally exist in this world, we will not have identities, nor will we be recognized by Starfleet. I am not certain they will believe any attempt we make at explaining the unique circumstances of the situation without sufficient proof. I will need access to your labs.❞
The Lieutenant Commander Scotts are attempting to manipulate the Enterprise's transporters to mimic the conditions that led Spock's party to materialize on the bridge of an Enterprise not theirs, but if the conditions cannot be replicated, they cannot be returned to their proper place. He can offer no help to the Scotts -- computer programming is his field of expertise -- but he can prepare for their futures in the case of failure. To do that, he must first be able to prove to Starfleet that they hail from a parallel universe -- everything else is contingent on that. Failure is not an option.
