Hello Portland Beer lovers!

Is everyone gearing up for this holiday weekend? 

If you are not already aware, this week Deschutes released this year's Black Butte Porter! We are a huge fan of this iconic dark brew and can wait to sip on our own glass of the new batch. though we are sure you are all running down to their pub in town, if you can’t make it in there stop by and grab a bottle here at C.C. Oregon Made to enjoy at home.

Happy Canada Day Portland! 

We are preparing to to unwind this holiday weekend with some soothing “Meadow” from Smith Teamaker. And what better way to enjoy our favorite chamomile blend than with a teaspoon of local honey in one of these huge mugs. “Meadow” is a caffeine free blend of chamomile, rooibos, hyssop, and rose petals.

We love to enjoy this with our Bee Local: Cherry Wood Smoked honey. A warm and toasty drink to unwind with at the start of a long weekend. 

The art featured on our mugs is from local artist PAL and shows all of the gorgeous bridges that stretch through Portland!

Hello Portland! 

We are excited to gush about a very specific grape this weekend...Pinot Noir! Of course, we have countless choices when it comes to Oregon’s staple red grape.

What makes Oregon Pinot so special? Well, there is a scientific answer involving soil, climate, etc. But in our humble opinion it is the approach to how wine is made here. Above are pictures of some of the countless Pinots we carry here, and what makes these unique, is the attitude of the winemakers. The Willamette Valley, much like the rest of winemaking america did not really hit it’s stride in viticulture until the mid 1970′s. Oregon and the Willamette Valley diverge from other large wine producing regions in North America when it comes to production size and exports. Oregon is also hailed as one of the most environmentally friendly wine producing regions, with a majority of vineyards implementing biodynamic and organic practices. 

What does this mean for the wine? When you open a bottle of Oregon Pinot Noir, specifically a bottle like those pictured above (Patton Valley Vineyards and J.K. Carrier) you are drink a product that has been intensely cared for. Grapes that have been grown in a very specific area and picked at the perfect time, wines that are carefully crafted to form a balance of ripe fruits, tannins, and acid.

We’ve got a hot weekend a head of us Portland!

We are staying cool and getting ready for the starlight parade with some chilled brews and popcorn from icandy.

This weekend we pay homage to fruit in all of its fermented glory.

One of our favorite cider brewers, 2 Towns Cider house, always fruitiest of ciders.  From traditional all apple to ginger and even Oregon’s favorite berry: marionberry

Now we also carry their seasonal cider: a concoction featuring peach notes and fermented with saison yeast. Our perfect answer to warm afternoons.

And on the subject of sours and marionberry, Flat Tail has done what we have all been wait for with beer and created a beautiful marionberry brew with a warm finish from pink peppercorns this ale is complex and refreshing.

It is Oregon wine month and the Rose Parade is quickly approaching so we are proud to feature a broad selection of Oregon Roses for all of your pink drink needs.

Featured is the Oregon Blossom Rose a delicious and elegant wine in a beautiful bottle. The proceeds of which are donated to breast cancer research.

Also pictured is Ponzi Vineyards 2015 Rose of Pinot Noir. This vintage is particularly special as it marks their 45th year making wine. Thank you to the Ponzi family and the handful of others that have built the Willamette Valley into the wine star it is today! We adore this winery and the wines they produce. It is always clear the care and love that is put into their wines.

If you’re looking for the perfect Rose to sip on during the rose festival at the end of this month, pop a bottle of Portlandia’s 2015 Oregon Rose into your chiller and enjoy. This wine is ideal for sipping on in the coming summer heat.

Hello, Internet!

We are pleased to begin this journey of exploration and discovery of what the great state of Oregon and our beautiful Rose City have to offer. This blog will be primarily for the purposes of educating ourselves and our new friends.

Each of our products has a story and we would like to bring that story to you. Feel free to explore and learn about Oregon wine, beer, and ciders each weekend. Throughout the week we will be bringing you a unique Oregon Made gift. And for those with a sweet tooth. there is never a shortage of chocolate and sweet treats.
