Also, as a bonus here: the harvest festival after I ruined it.
Prompt: Free Day (Halloween!)
Stingy Jack: Behold. I am a horrible demonic creature blocked by heaven and rejected by hell. Given this coal of hell fire to light my path, I cross over to the world of the living on Halloween to seek out victims of my resentment and hate and I shall bring torturous death upon-
Me: Hey Jack, I got booze!
Stingy Jack: OH HELL YEAH GIRL! YOU’RE ALRIGHT! LET’S GET THIS PARTY STARTED WOOO!
Prompt: Free day (Monster Mash)
Gave myself the prompt ‘Monster Mash’ for this free day. Not much to say, quick and fun.
Prompt: Harvest Festival (Drawtober)
This was the piece I was complaining about ruining when I put in the shadows earlier. I took a picture before hand because I was concerned I was going to ruin it, and it was a good thing I did!
Prompt: Two witches doing magic together (Witchy Art Challenge)
Outright fanart for two of my favorite Halloween films in this one. Rhonda from ‘Trick R Treat’ performing her magic with Sarah Sanderson from ‘Hocus Pocus’. (Bonus Dr. Facilier from ‘The Princess and the frog’ because ever since that 2015 DisneyLand Halloween show, I ship him with Sarah and refuse to believe these two empowered non-Christian individuals wouldn’t be connected at the hip and doing awesome feats of magic together/ corrupting educating the youths. Give the non-Christians their happy endings too damn it!)
Prompt: Scientific Diagram (Goretober)
The third of the three where I didn’t use a sketch underneath and just free handed it with ink.
Back in Animal Morphology in college, we did dissections every week as we moved up the evolutionary lines. The squid was my favorite one we did, mostly because ours you could see everything clearly. I actually used pictures I have saved on my phone of that dissection as a reference when drawing this one.
Prompt: Free day (Cat Theme)
I had no ideas for this one because I had already used black cats doing Halloween type stuff in a few other prompts before this. So I put it off until deciding just to do a bunch of cat sketches in my sketch book instead.
Prompt: Oops, where’s my skeleton? (Drawlloween)
I was going to do a more detailed and realistic version of this, but after spending and working so hard and long on Tomb Bop, I just needed something quick and fun. Second of three where I didn’t do a sketch underneath.
Prompt: Tomb Bop (Drawlloween)
‘And we danced so close, we were teenage ghosts
And we were doing that Graveyard Waltz
After all was said and done, we were just too young
To be doing that Graveyard Waltz
Graveyard Waltz’
‘Graveyard Waltz’ by The Hooters was the inspiration before this one. I spent way too long on it, and it does look better in person.
Prompt: Eye See You (Goretober)
One of the three where I didn’t do a sketch underneath, just used ink for the whole thing. Not sure what it says about how I’m doing but I’ve been drawing a lot of body horror/abstract horror things like this free hand in ink in my sketch books throughout the pandemic.
Prompt: Free Day (Pokemon)
Another free day. This time my personal prompt was Pokemon so I did three of my favorite dark and ghost types. I used colored pencils but was trying to keep it sort of quick and easy so I didn’t bother trying to blend them. Which is seriously annoying me now. If I go back and blend them better, I’ll repost it.
Prompt: Infestation (Goretober)
How about demonic infestation, anyone? Yes, Annabelle was the inspiration behind the choice of the Raggedy Ann type doll.
Prompt: You’re Already Dead (Goretober)
Had idea, but was too complicated again. Have an Emily from ‘The Corpse Bride’ instead!
Prompt: An Apprentice (Witchy Art Challenge)
Everyone’s favorite witchy apprentice, Luz from ‘The Owl House’!
Prompt: Carvings (Drawtober)
Had a different original idea, but when I looked into it, wasn’t what I wanted. Resulting in a Jack ‘o’ Lantern and a black cat.
Prompt: Free Day (The Raven)
Another Free Day. I wanted to use the short story ‘The Raven’ by Edgar Allen Poe as the prompt, but after re reading it, decided it wasn’t really as interesting as I remembered. So I just drew a Raven on a tombstone instead.
Prompt: Vroom vroom vampire (Drawlloween)
Vroom vroom.
