happy 29th birthday celeste melody bennett !! ( june 2, 1990 )
jacobgrimsditch:
“So I’ve got some news.” He started talking as soon as he entered her shop, hopping up onto the counter next to where she stood. “Do you need to put on some background music or do you want me to just tell it to you straight?”
@celestemelodybennett
“Hm, that depends. What kind of background music do I need?” she replied with a small smirk.
“Hi, yeah, can I just get a club soda, please?” Melody questioned with a smile at the girl behind the bar. She was planning to meet up with someone, but they were late. She was a little nervous they wouldn’t show up at all.

bennydford:
“Yeah, I know how that feels. I have one or two solid people at my studio but my receptionist is such a mess. She can’t make a schedule to save her life so I end up having to do her job and mine.”
“You could hire a new receptionist,” Melody suggested. “Not to sound mean or anything.”
yvetteweston:
“Sounds perfect,” she smiled. “Thank you for this, I’m sorry I didn’t really know what to get, I’m not that big on music to be honest.”
“It’s completely fine,” Melody replied. “Lucky for you this is my job.” She smiled at the other women. “So who are you getting these for anyway?”
bennydford:
“Thanks.” He laughed. “Their hot chocolate is amazing. Maybe becuase I’m always freezing when I have it, but the girl who owns this place knows what she’s doing.” Ben opened the door for Mel when they reached the cafe. “After you.”
“And her workers are great,” Melody replied. “I wish I had workers like that. It’s really just me at this point at the record store.”
marshallxmorris:
“Hmm.” He hummed, flipping it over in his hands. “The artwork is so weird, I love it.” Marshall laughed, nodding. “Alright, so what’s your favorite in stock right now?”
“We got the new Lumineers album a few weeks ago, that’s been my favorite for a little while, but that always changes, so ask me again in a few days,” she replied, smile on her face.
bennydford:
“Yeah, what she said.” Ben tried to be intimidating. He turned back to his friend. “Gah, now my back’s all cold. Do you want to go inside and warm up?”
Melody let out a small laugh at his comment. “Yeah, I’ll go inside. I’m dying for a cup of that Hideaway Cafe hot chocolate.”
yvetteweston:
“Sure, I’ll defer to your judgement.”

Melody looked through some records. “How about these three?” She showed the albums from Bob Dylan, The Beatles, and Bruce Springsteen. “These are classic.”

“…Oh, maybe this one. Or not– he likes these guys…I think. Or maybe–” Evelyn sighed, glancing at the boxes of vinyls in front of her. “Why is gift shopping so difficult?”
Melody let out a small laugh. “Do you need help with anything, hun?” she questioned the blonde.
bennydford:
“I– ow!” Ben turned around, looking for whoever threw the snowball at him. “What the heck? Did you just see that?” He couldn’t help but laugh, though.
@celestemelodybennett
Melody gave a glare at the kids who were snickering. “Kids are going to get themselves into trouble if they keep throwing snowballs at random people.”
“I know that I grew up in Rochester, I’m literally freezing right now. It’s so cold.”

marshallxmorris:
Marshall blew a sigh through his cheeks as he scanned the room, quickly reading through the signs for one he wasn’t all too familiar with. “Reggae?”
Melody led him to the genre. She grazed over the albums. “I haven’t listened to these all, but the weirdest one I have listened to in this genre is this vinyl right here,” she pulled it out, handing it to Marshall.
yvetteweston:
“I think I saw a Bob Dylan cd at their place once, but I couldn’t be certain that was even something they bought,” Yvette spoke with an apologetic smile.
“Well how about we choose a Bob Dylan vinyl, and maybe a few others similar to Bob Dylan,” she replied.
yvetteweston:
“Do you have anything really special? I’m buying for someone very picky who doesn’t let it known what their music tastes are so I’m a little stuck.”
@celestemelodybennett
“Special is relative,” Melody replied, moving from behind the counter. “But, do you know what Artists or Genre, they tend to listen to, we can narrow it down there.”
erickmathews-rp:
Erick smiled, “Yeah me too. How is your mom? I havnt seen her in a while.”
“She’s good, I talk to her on the phone sometimes, and we exchange OWLs, I haven’t been home lately though. And your parents?”
marshallxmorris:
“I dunno what I want.” He admitted, grinning. “Something new - something I’ve never heard of. Everything I know is getting boring.”
Melody raised her eyebrows, “Genre?”
