"If they don’t know it already, they shouldn’t be here."
"I don't -- uh? How do you figure that?"
The medical ward is offering classes? What — am I in school again?
"Well, for people who don't know anything about medical attention, you'd imagine it'd be a good idea ---- or, uh, something like that."
He held his breath, jaw clenching tightly. "…Good find."
"I never thought you wanted to see him on friendly terms, Celeste."
Watching his brother, Celeste couldn't help but feel horrible. He didn't want to do this -- he knew how it felt to know that Cecil had someone else, and here he was, purposely making his twin feel the same way. But, it had to be done, right? The galaxy was dangerous, and even if this was a small part of it, their codependency needed to be managed -- even if it's just enough to assure Celeste that he'd be okay if something were to happen.
Stepping forward, Celeste laid a palm at his jaw, smiling up at him.
"Well, I certainly didn't just see him as sex. And, yeah -- Ryder is really great. I think you two would be really good friends, actually. ----We can go on double dates, now? With Zara, and -- please stop making that face, you're going to hurt your teeth."
"Oh, thank-you. I’m not sure what I did to have a compliment though, it’s only the truth."
Gazing out into the field he watched the way that the wind blew the petals of some sunflowers in the distance. He adored sunflowers — such a happy flower. He looked over at Celeste, squinting as the sun went in his eyes. "You’re wonderful too though, you have been nothing but nice to me. Not to mention that you read my books, the the greatest compliment in the world. Have you ever wanted to write a book?"
"I -- well, reading your books don't make me wonderful. Lots of people read your books. They're -- brilliant, but I'm sure you know that already. And, uh -- no? Not really, at least. Maybe when I was younger, but generally, I'm not the best writer. I prefer -- well, I don't really know. I don't have many distinguishable talents, I think?"
Shrugging, Celeste played with the hem of his shirt, refusing to meet Tasio's line of sight.
"If I'm being honest, you actually inspired me a lot. I wanted to be the heroes in your stories, and I was -- well, I was bullied a lot in school. So, I guess it helped me through all that. My brother too, of course, but it made me want to be brave. For him, and in some twisted way, for you? You just -- this is really surreal, I'm sorry. I'm being really lame right now."
Feeling a presence next to him he opened his eyes to look over. Sat next to him was Celeste. Smiling sweetly at the boy he took the flower out of his top pocket and offered it to him. He did think that the flower was the prettiest thing he had seen all day, but then Celeste came along and it became an unfair competition.
"Yes, breathtakingly so. I’ve never been around so much of something that is so real. It’s quite overwhelming, but a good overwhelming. One I can’t get enough of. Celeste, creativity has no limits. You are creative too, you just have’t found your muse yet — you will in time.”
"Same. Uranus is -- well, it's the opposite of this place, really."
Pausing, Celeste let himself think. It was a nice sentiment -- he'd heard rumors of Neptune, and he'd always assumed that the ideal of unsuccessful musings were -- well, ostrized. However, Tasio seemed more than polite -- supportive.
But, with what Celeste knew of Tasio, he may just be the exception to the ideal.
"That's -- thank you. You're really great, Tasio. I mean -- I assumed that before, but you're exceeding my expectations. You're -- I don't know. You're just really wonderful."
"Some of these fields of flowers are absolutely beautiful. They’re going to make wonderful settings for a new book." Picking up a yellow daffodil he bought it up to his nose. It smelt sweet and fresh. Much better than anything he had ever smelt at home. Everything was so vibrant and real. Placing the flower in his top pocket on his blazer he closed his eyes and looked up to the sun letting the cool breeze run through his hair.
Celeste didn't like the Earth's surface.
Between the various amount of absolutely horrifying animals, and the -- well, it was just the animals, wasn't it? Even in the daytime, he was highly skeptical of his surroundings, only searching the surface to try to find his twin brother.
However, when he saw Tasio, he paused. Trying to ignore his variety of nerves, he easily sat beside the other, trying to keep his smile genuine, and not entirely bashful.
"----------It's really beautiful, isn't it? Sometimes I wish I was an artist -- this all would probably be more inspiring. I -- I'm glad your writing benefits from it."
"Yeah…I don’t think so. Describe him to me. Also, what the hell happened to Icarus? I thought you wanted to hop on that dick."
"Uh -- he's tall. Very -- tan. Deep voice. ----Nice."
"I mean, I still like Icarus. But, he's -- a friend, you know?"
"Ryder. Is that the one who’s got a stick up his ass? Good choice."
"He doesn't ---- we're definitely talking about different people."
